Bank Street School for Children on the Upper West Side has introduced the new “Racial Justice and Advocacy” curriculum, which separates the school’s 430 students into an “advocacy group” for white students and the “kids of color affinity group.” According to The New York Post, white students are taught to increase their “awareness of the prevalence of whiteness and privilege,” challenge “notions of colorblindness (and) assumptions of ‘normal,’ ‘good,’ and ‘American'” and “understand and own European ancestry and see the tie to privilege.”)
