THE HILL
— The Family Act would leave all workers with less take-home pay – CARRIE LUKAS (DIERSEN: Ever since we got married in 1978, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have demonized, denigrated, and condemned my wife and I as being disgustingly undeservedly filthy rich DINKs (dual income, no kids). They hint/imply/argue/shout that if we had kids, I never would have been able to earn a) job-related master’s degrees when I was 31 and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32. They hint/imply/argue/shout that if we had kids, a) my wife would not have been able to keep her job at the U.S. League of Savings Institutions, b) we would not have been able to have 915 Cove Court in Wheaton built in 1984, c) GAO would not have promoted me in 1986, d) I would not have been able to buy collector cars in 1989 and 1994, e) we would not have been able to save for our retirement, f) etc.)
