(FROM THE ARTICLE: Among those voting Sunday was 108-year-old Wheaton resident Nancy Rossi, who cast her ballot in person at the DuPage County Fairgrounds. “My birthday is April 10, 1918, and I live with my daughter,” Rossi said. Rossi said she stopped voting for 40 years because of her disillusionment with political corruption. Asked how grateful she was to be able to cast a ballot, Rossi replied, “Oh, greatly, greatly, greatly.” Her daughter, Carmine Pollack, said voting is now very important to Rossi. “She said we have to vote because if we don’t vote, we can’t complain,” Pollack said. Rossi was among many voters who took advantage of shorter lines on Sunday. Donna Ciszczon, a DuPage County election judge supervisor, said turnout has been unusually strong. “Voter turnout this midterm is probably one of the largest I’ve seen in the last 10 years. Surprisingly enough, both mail-in ballots as well as in-person voting, and I’m just very surprised at how large it’s been,” Ciszczon said. According to the ABC7 early voting ballot tracker, turnout in DuPage County stood at 21.4%, nearly five percentage points higher than the state average. Chicago’s turnout was 13.4%, both figures include both early voting and returned mail ballots.)

— Affordability among biggest issue facing voters. DD: Democrat leaders ever-increasingly use affordability against Trump. What have you done to afford things? I did far more than my peers to afford things. I worked my way through college and I earned a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970. I worked two jobs 1971-1972. WIREPOINTS
— ‘White Guilt’ Comes to New Trier High School. Will Open Minds Follow?
https://wirepoints.org/white-guilt-comes-to-new-trier-high-school-will-open-minds-follow-wirepoints/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The far left has not lost its grip on public education. One movie screening won’t change that. But at New Trier High School in suburban Chicago, a small opening may be taking shape. A school that made national headlines in 2017 for refusing to include dissenting voices in its controversial “seminar day” on race now appears ready to let some of those same voices be heard on campus. On Thursday, November 5, New Trier Neighbors and Trevian Club America plan to host a screening and panel discussion of a new movie, White Guilt, by father-son filmmakers Shelby and Eli Steele at New Trier’s Cornog Auditorium. The film challenges precisely the kind of racial orthodoxy that New Trier once presented to students as indisputable fact. And the event will feature two of the names the 2017 dissenting parents asked the school to include nine years ago: Shelby Steele, who narrates the film, and Pastor Corey Brooks, who appears in the film and is scheduled to be in attendance. A privately hosted event is not a change in curriculum. Allowing a screening is not an endorsement. But at a school whose authoritarian approach to teaching race became a national flashpoint, making room for an unwelcome argument would be a step forward.)

DD: To get out the vote for Republican candidates on the November 3, 2026 ballot in my DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 59 in Wheaton ( https://electionresults.dupagecounty.gov/election/PrecinctMaps/map50059.pdf ), I walked to the front doors of 370 residences in my precinct that have at least one registered Republican or Independent voter and delivered 370 DuPage County GOP-provided envelopes using 660 DuPage County Election Division-provided mailing labels that contained a) the outstanding Milton Township Republican Organization (MTRO)-provided Voter Guide, b) the sample ballot ( https://electionresults.dupageco.org/election/ballots/2026/General/Milton%20059-0316-NP.PDF ), and c) campaign pieces from the 14 of the 18 Republican candidates on that ballot who provided MTRO with their campaign pieces. Those 370 envelopes contained 5,920 pieces: 5,180 campaign pieces (14X370), 370 Voter Guides, and 370 sample ballots. About 200 of those 370 households were Republican and about 170 were Independent. The 18 candidates on the ballot in my precinct are: Tracy, Bailey/Del Mar, Fioretti, Harris, Drew, Soloman, Oakley, Lewis, Vrankovich, Grasso, Noonan, Schiappa, Henry, Eckhoff, Michaud, Schultz, Quirk, and Helland.

— Why do voters vote for candidates? Far too many vote for those candidates who promise to use government to give those who share their demographics the most preference. Democrat and RINO candidates have always shouted at voters who are the following that Republicans discriminate against them, and therefore, they need massive government assistance to survive let alone advance: liberal/moderate, minority, female, younger, LGBTQ, non-Protestant, non-German American, have ancestors who had not been in America for a long time, and/or noncitizen. – Dave Diersen

— OPM’s performance rating system misses the real problem. DD: My Democrat Post Office (1966-1969), IRS (1971-1980), and GAO (1980-1997) superiors used the subjectivity in their performance rating systems to waste my career and to get rid of me.

— Democrats are running on affordability. DD: What have you done to afford things? I did far more than my peers to afford things. I worked my way through college and I earned a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970. I worked two jobs 1971-1972. I earned a) job-related master’s degrees in 1976, 1980, and 1997, b) job-related professional certifications in 1979, 1981, 1990, 1994, 1996, and 1997, and c) a job-related professional license in 1981. But according to my critics/opponents, I was able to do the aforesaid only because I avoided the Vietnam War draft, because of my wife’s income, and because we gave up trying to have children.

— DD: On who/what do your critics/opponents blame their problems? My critics/opponents blame me and blame my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters for their problems. They blame me and blame my newsletters for all the defeats that Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct have suffered since 2000. How strongly will they blame me and blame my newsletters for the defeats that Republican candidates on the November 3, 2026 ballot in my precinct will suffer? I should write a book about the aforesaid. I would take all the Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct who have suffered defeats since 2000 and focus on the logic/arguments that my critics/opponents have used to blame me for those defeats. I would focus on my critics/opponents who are past and present a) leaders of the Illinois Republican Party, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and Milton Township Republican Organization, b) Republican leaders of Illinois, DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton, c) Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct, d) conservative leaders, e) religious leaders, and f) major Republican donors.

— DD: To get more votes from young White male voters, Democrat leaders have always shouted at young White male voters that because of Republicans, young White male voters need massive government assistance to survive let alone advance. If I had fallen for that, because I was a young White male voter and because I was never in line to get government assistance or any other kind of assistance, I never would have had the motivation to work my way through college and to earn a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970, b) job-related master’s degrees in 1976, 1980, and 1997, c) job-related professional certifications in 1979, 1981, 1990, 1994, 1996, and 1997, and d) a job-related professional license in 1981.
