CENTRAL ILLINOIS PROUD
— Draft GOP platform drops call for marriage amendment – CNN  (DIERSEN: Of course, needless-to-say, Democrats and Democrat plants, Libertarians and Libertarian plants, Greens and Green plants, and RINOs want to destroy the Republican Party. They want the Republican Party platform to promote LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, pot, abolition of the Second Amendment, race and gender based preference giving, gambling, etc.)
http://www.centralillinoisproud.com/news/draft-gop-platform-drops-call-for-marriage-amendment
(FROM THE ARTICLE: And in a major shift, the platform would drop the pursuit of a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as between a man and a woman, opting instead to oppose the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage and calling on the matter to be decided by the states. . .The language was shared with members of the Platform Committee by the Republican National Committee at an orientation on Sunday night as the events in Cleveland began. The document will form the basis of discussions for the panel, which will meet this week to adapt the language and vote on a final proposal, which will then go before the full convention next week.)

INSIDE HIGHER EDUCATION
— College and the New Class Divide  Contrary to college standing as an open thoroughfare for Americans wanting to improve their lives, it has become a gated toll road primarily available to those from middle-class and upper-class families, argues Jeffrey J. Williams. (DIERSEN: Neither of my outstanding parents attended college.  My father was the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma.  My mother never attended high school.  Nevertheless, my critics/opponents shout that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth and that I have always been privileged.)
https://www.insidehighered.com/views/2016/07/11/how-college-helping-create-class-divide-america-essay
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Those who have gone to college beget those who go to college: if your parents didn’t go to college, you are much more likely to work at or near minimum wage. Only about 9 percent of those from the lowest quartile of wealth complete college degrees, whereas about three-quarters from the top quartile do. A key impediment has been the exponential rise of tuition prices since the 1970s, at several times the rate of inflation, correlated with the reduction of public support, which in turn has brought the steep increase in student debt and student work hours.)
