CNBC
— Nearly 1 in 3 adults get financial support from the bank of mom and dad post-Covid – Jessica Dickler
(COMMENT: Should everyone be required to disclose how much money their parents have given them? Neither of my outstanding parents attended college. My father was the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma. He fought brittle type 1 diabetes from age 14, worked in the office of a nasty chemical plant in Chicago Heights, almost always worked second jobs to pay the family’s bills, did not buy a new car until he was 45 in 1967 and it was a bottom of the line 2-door Chevy, and died suddenly of heart failure in 1969. My mother never attended high school. I got a financial hardship draft deferment 1970-1971 to help support my mother and brother.)

NEW YORK TIMES
— How to Participate in Politics – Ian Prasad Philbrick and David Leonhardt
(COMMENT: Which candidates on the June 28, 2022 Republican primary ballot in my precinct will want me to help elect them? According to my critics/opponents who have been Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct since 2000, I should be grateful that they LET ME HELP ELECT THEM. They hint/imply/argue/shout that my efforts to help elect them (getting signatures on nominating petitions, getting campaign sign locations, delivering their campaign literature, promoting their fundraisers, organizing Republican support for Wheaton Independence Day parades and fireworks, etc.) COST THEM MANY VOTES a) BECAUSE I am “too conservative,” b) BECAUSE I support the traditional marriage/family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, immigration, and equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in the Republican Party platform, c) BECAUSE I have included links to articles in GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters that they do not like, d) BECAUSE I have sued people in DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton who have lots of religious, financial, government, and/or political clout, and e) BECAUSE my demographics are terrible – conservative, Republican, American, White, male, old (born in 1948), draft avoider, heterosexual, married, childless, non-poor, gun owner, Christian, Protestant, 100% German American, my ancestors have been in America since 1844, federal employee for almost 30 years, retired federal employee for more than 24 years, DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton resident only since 1978, not interested in sports, non-dog owner, American nameplate vehicle owner, etc.)

— The 23-Year-Olds Want to Run the Office – Emma Goldberg
(COMMENT: What did you do the year that you turned 23? I turned 23 in 1971. I lived with my mother and brother in Crete. My father had died suddenly in October of 1969. I started the year working as the Retail Sales Manager for the Firestone Store in Chicago Heights, taking a graduate business management course at UIC, and awaiting a decision on my application for a financial hardship draft deferment. That application was approved, and because of my draft lottery number, I was no longer subject to the draft. I believe that prompted Oldsmobile to offer me a job which I accepted. But when I told my Firestone boss, he immediately and rudely fired me. But then, Oldsmobile withdrew its job offer saying that it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. That directly resulted in my accepting a job offer from IRS to be a GS-7 (currently $48,445/year) Revenue Officer in Chicago. But then, my Firestone boss offered me a part-time job pumping gasoline which I accepted. Before I started working for IRS and working part-time for Firestone, I went on a spring break vacation in the Bahamas. My 1969 Dodge Charger SE was stolen in Chicago in August. That directly resulted in my buying a new 1972 Corvette and a 1962 Chevy Bel Air for everyday use. At the end of the year, IRS granted my request to be assigned to its Harvey office.)

USA TODAY
— America’s public servants are being terrorized with death threats. The ’emotional toll’ is lasting. – Dennis Wagner
(COMMENT: Are/were you a public servant? I was a public servant for almost 30 years – almost 3 years working for the Post Office 1966-1969, almost 9 years working for IRS 1971-1980, and almost 18 years working for GAO 1980-1997 and I have been a retired public servant for more than 24 years. I should write a book about those in Illinois, in DuPage County, in Milton Township, and in Wheaton who have displayed the most hatred against past, present, and future federal employees.)
