(FROM THE ARTICLE: The county will pay Marquardt & Humes Inc., no more than $94,500 for one year of lobbying work through Sept. 14, 2026. The firm’s lobbying team includes Scott Marquardt, who began his career as a prosecutor in the DuPage state’s attorney’s office, and John “Chip” Humes, who’s also a co-owner of the Humes Funeral Home in Addison. Though the political makeup of the county board has changed over the years, officials continued using Roger C. Marquardt & Co. as a state-level lobbyist. In 2024, Scott Marquardt and Humes solidified their business partnership, forming Marquardt & Humes, according to a firm overview. The county also will pay Raucci & Sullivan Strategies no more than $52,500 for one year of lobbying services through August 2026. Former Republican state Sen. Dave Sullivan is the firm’s president. Marc Poulos, who was a member of Gov. JB Pritzker’s transition team, also is part of the firm. Marquardt & Humes are “continuing our strong advocacy on behalf of DuPage County regarding ongoing transit negotiations,” Humes wrote in a letter to officials in July.)

— Trump’s Immigration Push Tests ICE Workforce. In 1980, I was one of the last Republicans who the Democrats who ran GAO hired. By the time they succeeded in forcing me to retire when I was 49 years old in 1980, I was one of the last Republican GAO employees. Republican Gingrich’s dramatic gutting of GAO while I worked for GAO 1980-1997 not only demoralized and devastated GAO employees, it made Democrat GAO employees hate Republican GAO employees. I should write about that.

TRUTHDIG
— Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative. Far too many Democrat plants and RINOs become Republican Precinct Committeemen (RPC) and become leaders of Republican township, county, and state party organizations to get the Republican Party to strike its personal responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and/or equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in its platform, that is, to destroy the Republican Party. These Democrat plants and RINOs focus on driving platform Republicans like me out of the party. I should write about them and the adverse actions that they have had their operatives and their dupes take against me since 1999. In 2000, they got one of their own to run against me for RPC. In 2004, they rudely fired me as the Milton Township Republican Organization (MTRO) webmaster and rudely defeated me 69 to 13 when I ran for MTRO Treasurer. In 2006, they almost got the Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) to censure me for my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters. In 2007, they got ICRC to rudely throw me off its Steering Committee. In 2010, they again rudely fired me as MTRO webmaster. In 2012, they got TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois to rudely end my chairmanship. In 2015, they rudely gerrymandered my precinct. In 2021, they rudely ended my service as the Republican fundraiser for Wheaton Independence Day parades and fireworks. In 2024, the rudely ended my membership on the Illinois Republican Party State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee. I should write about the aforesaid.
