(FROM THE ARTICLE: Kaczmarek, who lost a bid for reelection in the March primary, says her office is about $2.5 million short of what is needed to run the election. If the gap isn’t addressed, Kaczmarek said it could lead to cuts resulting in fewer polling places, a later start date for early voting and fewer election judges. . According to budget figures provided by county officials, the clerk’s office has spent 99.8% of its postage budget. The county budgeted $277,050, a 201% increase over what was spent in 2022, for postage, and the clerk’s office already has spent $276,569. In her proposed spending plan last year, Kaczmarek requested $734,672 for postage and $623,226 to cover election-related printing costs. County officials also noted the clerk’s office already has spent 74% of its printing budget, or money used to print ballots and other election materials. The county budgeted $474,700, a 15% increase over actual expenses in 2022, the last year of a gubernatorial election. The clerk’s office already has spent $351,126. . .Kaczmarek said she is reviewing her options for the November election with her office’s election attorney. She does not intend to be at Tuesday’s county board meeting.)

SHRM
— Multi-Generational Workforce Poses Challenges for HR Professionals. DD: While I worked for the Democrats who ran GAO 1980-1997, their top priority was getting rid of their older employees who were Republican, White, male, non-veteran, Protestant, German American, and/or had ancestors who had been in America for a long time.  In 1993, when I was 45 years old, to get rid of their employees who were the aforesaid, they “offered” early retirement.

LEGIS
— Federal Probationary Workers Leaving Jobs at Higher Rates. DD: After I transferred from IRS to GAO when I was 31 in 1980, my Democrat GAO superiors were furious when they learned that they could not use probationary procedures to get rid of me. Nevertheless, they did everything that could to get me to transfer back to IRS, transfer to another federal agency, or quit. They gave me bad job assignments, unfair performance expectations, and unfair performance appraisals. They kept me off audits of IRS. They delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. Further, previously, in 1970, my Chicago Heights Firestone Store boss refused to let me start until after I passed a 2-week probationary period in Indiana. He would never had hired me, but his boss had assigned me to him. He did not have a college degree and he disapproved of my avoiding the Vietnam War draft, my being Protestant, my being German American, my having ancestors who had been in America since 1844, and my living in Crete.

DAILY KOS
— DD: According to Democrats, a) slaves built America and b) the longer that your ancestors have been in America, the more that you have benefitted from slavery and the more reparations that you should pay. Democrats have always wanted me to pay lots of reparations because all my ancestors immigrated during the 1840s and 1850s. In their defense, they always lived in northeast Illinois, they never were in a position to discriminate against anyone, and they never did discriminate against anyone.

I worked my way through college. I earned a job-related bachelor’s degree. I earned three job-related master’s degrees. I earned six job-related professional certifications. I earned a job-related professional license. My father had brittle type 1 diabetes from childhood. He was only the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma. Because of his diabetes, he never attended college. My mother never attended high school.

(FROM THE ATICLE: The share of American children who earn more than their parents has fallen from about 90% among those born in 1940 to roughly 50% among children born in the 1980s. The decline has affected the entire income distribution, but the fall has been particularly pronounced for the middle class.)
