— Call it a second blue wave. With mail-in ballots finally counted in Lake County, Democrat Mary Edly-Allen defeated Republican state Rep. Helene Miller Walsh. It was one of four races to swing from red to blue Monday, two weeks after the general election. In the Lake County Sheriff’s race, Democrat John Idleburg defeated incumbent Republican Mark Curran. Because just 137 votes separate the candidates, Curran is expected to ask for a recount. . .Lake County is considered a battleground area. So everyone has a view on why it’s swinging more left in this election cycle. Were voters pushed there by President Donald Trump’s rhetoric? One Democratic campaign strategist credits J.B.
