https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-walmart-donation-hyde-smith-hangings-20181120-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Hyde-Smith’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment. On Tuesday night, the Associated Press reported that Hyde-Smith had apologized for her “public hanging” comment, saying there was “no ill will.” “I’ve never been hurtful to anyone,” Hyde-Smith said in a debate against Espy, according to the AP. “This comment was twisted. It was turned into a weapon to be used against me.” . . . At the White House on Tuesday, before leaving for Florida, President Donald Trump said that Hyde-Smith’s comment about attending a public hanging was made “in jest” and she “feels bad” about it. He went on to predict that she will still win the Mississippi runoff against Espy.)

POLITICO ILLINOIS
— Call it a second blue wave. With mail-in ballots finally counted in Lake County, Democrat Mary Edly-Allen defeated Republican state Rep. Helene Miller Walsh. It was one of four races to swing from red to blue Monday, two weeks after the general election. In the Lake County Sheriff’s race, Democrat John Idleburg defeated incumbent Republican Mark Curran. Because just 137 votes separate the candidates, Curran is expected to ask for a recount. . .Lake County is considered a battleground area. So everyone has a view on why it’s swinging more left in this election cycle. Were voters pushed there by President Donald Trump’s rhetoric? One Democratic campaign strategist credits J.B. Pritzker’s investment of millions of dollars in mail ballots for giving Edly-Allen and other Lake County races a boost. “Those down-ballot races are won on the margins and being able to have that program and money taken care of from the top of the ticket is huge,” he said. A GOP lawmaker grumbles that it was Gov. Bruce Rauner’s negatives that pulled Republican candidates down in Lake County. And a Democratic observer says those anti-Mike Madigan ads back-fired. – SHIA KAPOS and ADRIENNE HURST

LEGAL READER
— Eight men are suing retailer Saks Fifth Avenue, alleging that its New York City outlets discriminated against them on grounds of race and age – Ryan J. Farrick (DIERSEN: During the 1980s, and 1990s, GAO discriminated against all its employees in its Chicago office a) who were Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran and b) who had not made GS-13 (currently $96,403) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $113,920) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $134,000) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $164,200) by age 40. None of the aforesaid employees joined the agency-wide class action lawsuit that charged GAO with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation like I did. Instead, they “cut deals” with GAO to keep their jobs. Those deals included a) forcing me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, b) giving me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, c) always ranking me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, d) not promoting me beyond GS-13, e) getting rid of my mentor in 1987, f) keeping me off audits of IRS, and g) forcing me to take a $19,203 (26%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.)

They blame me for their problems, for your problems, for my problems, and for everyone’s problems. Needless-to-say, those who do not support Republican primary winners should not be allowed to be Republican precinct committeeman/captains or hold or seek any kind of government or political office as a Republican.)
