— Bailey: ‘To come here into Illinois and to add the FOID card, and to continue to add these restrictions, that’s an infringement’
(FROM THE ARTICLE: State Sen. Darren Bailey is among the growing list of lawmakers to come out against new legislation. According to KSKD, DuPage County Sheriff Jim Mendrick, the top law enforcement officer in the state’s second-largest county, is also among law enforcement officials who have declared they will not be enforcing the law, branding it as facing “a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.” In a recent Facebook post, Bailey expressed that background checks for firearms make sense. However, additional restrictions are not necessary. “We can say, alright, ‘Shall not be infringed,’ but yet we understand that sometimes these guns fall into the hands of the wrong person. So we have the federal, you know, firearm background check. That’s exactly what it does, and I don’t see anyone arguing that. But to come here into Illinois and to add the FOID card, and to continue to add these restrictions, that’s an infringement,” Bailey said in a Facebook post. Illinois state residents will be informed further on the new law for firearms once it is fully enforced. Under the terms of the new law, residents will be allowed to keep guns they have already purchased or obtained, along with newly relocated residents being eligible to apply for a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card within 60 days of making the state their new home. Illinois State Police are writing new administrative rules to explain how to enforce the assault weapons ban, with The Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) being the final voice in determining what rules are officially adopted before state police eventually circulate them to other law enforcement agencies across the state.)

— FAQS: QUESTION: Do Illinois residents have to register their AR or assault weapons as defined by the new law? ANSWER: Yes. In the coming months, more detailed information will be made available on how to register the firearm. At this time, you cannot submit an affidavit for registration. The endorsement affidavit will be available by October 1, 2023 and must be signed under oath and submitted to the ISP prior to January 1, 2024.

(FROM THE BULLETIN: Recently, the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois reassigned all the cases in that District challenging HB4571 to the courtroom of Judge Stephen P. McGlynn, which is where the ISRA challenge (Harrel v. Raoul) to that law is being heard.)

— DuPage County sheriff says he is not changing stance on enforcing the gun ban – Andrew Hensel (COMMENT: While I worked for the Democrats who ran the federal government for almost 30 years (GAO 1980-1997, IRS 1971-1980, and Post Office 1966-1969), while I did increasingly object to their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, religious discrimination, and national origin discrimination, I never even came close to even hinting that I would not enforce their Affirmative Action (AA), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) requirements. In fact, I enforced their AA and DEI requirements big time. To comply with their AA and DEI requirements, I gave tremendous preference to my subordinates who were Democrat, minority, female, younger, veteran, disabled, non-Christion, non-Protestant, non-Italian American, non-German American, and/or had ancestors who had not been in America for a long time. Most of my subordinates were most of the aforesaid. But my aforesaid tremendous preference giving was still not enough for my Democrat superiors. I should write a book about the aforesaid. — COMMENT: Democrats say “Mayoral challengers call for swifter action on reparations. A City Council subcommittee that was formed almost three years ago to explore how to make amends to the descendants of enslaved people has only met twice. “It’s smoke and mirrors,” state Rep. Kam Buckner said at a candidate forum on the issue.” Of course, the more of the following that Chicago residents are, the more reparations that Chicago Democrats will make them pay: heterosexual, White, male, older, Republican, conservative, non-poor, Christian, Protestant, Italian American, German American, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.
— COMMENT: Democrats say “City opens temporary shelter for asylum seekers in Woodlawn despite effort to block bus moving them. At least 3 busloads of recently arrived immigrants were dropped off at a once-shuttered South Side school that has been transformed into a shelter. Two protesters tried to stop a bus from reaching the former Wadsworth Elementary School.”
— COMMENT: Democrats say “Cook County’s financial divide is a local example of how policies favor the rich. What happens during the budget standoff in Congress could determine whether it becomes harder for average Americans to build wealth and pay their bills.” Where did you build your wealth and how did the policies there help you do that? I worked in Cook County 1964-1997. I worked in Chicago Heights 1964-1966 washing dishes, chipping slag, and pumping gasoline. I worked in Flossmoor in 1966 cleaning golf shoes. I worked in Park Forest 1966-1969 delivering mail. I worked in Chicago Heights 1970-1972 selling tires, automotive services, and major appliances and pumping gasoline. I worked in downtown Chicago in 1971 and 1973-1980 collecting delinquent taxes. I worked in Harvey 1972-1973 collecting delinquent taxes. I worked at 63rd and Halsted in Chicago in 1973 collecting delinquent taxes. I worked in downtown Chicago auditing federal agencies 1980-1997. I lived in downtown Chicago part-time 1974-1976 and full-time 1976-1978. In 1978, I got married. My wife and I used her savings for the downpayment on a home in Wheaton, I sold my one bedroom Outer Drive East condo for $61,000, and with the $10,000 gain, I bought a new 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale for $6,000 and a new 1978 Chevrolet Chevette for $4,000 in Glen Ellyn. My wife worked in Cook County 1968-2003 and 2014-2017.
— COMMENT: Democrats say “Chicago should be talking about its big pension problem. All four pension programs are vastly underfunded. There’s no meeting of minds around resolving the issue. But Chicagoans deserve to hear more about solutions as the municipal election approaches.”
— COMMENT: Democrats say “Little Village meeting to discuss help for migrants moving into former Woodlawn school.” Ever-increasingly, Democrats are illegally succeeding in illegally flooding America with citizens of foreign countries who will first illegally and then legally vote for Democrats.

— COMMENT: Democrats say “100 migrants move into vacant Woodlawn school despite local concerns.”
— COMMENT: Democrats say “Congressional lawmakers introduce bill to protect teaching Black History in schools.” Democrats teach Black History to promote hatred against Republicans. Then again, everything that Democrats do is to promote hatred against Republicans. I should write a book about the success that Democrats have had in promoting hatred against Republicans in my precinct, in Wheaton’s West District, in Wheaton, in Milton Township, in DuPage County’s 4th District, and in DuPage County since 1978. Ever-increasingly, Democrats work closely with RINOs, Libertarians, Greens, and Independents to promote hatred against Republicans.
— COMMENT: Democrats say “A Woodlawn migrant shelter sparks anger — and reflection — among Black and Latino residents. Woodlawn residents say they’ve been kept in the dark about the shelter by the city, but some see this as an opportunity to come together.”

— COMMENT: Democrats say “Survey pushes for greater focus on teacher recruitment and retention amid shortages.” The Democrats who ran GAO, IRS, and the Post Office in 1980, 1971, and 1966 respectively, hired me because I was qualified for the jobs and they could not find qualified Democrats, minorities, females, veterans, or young people who would take the jobs. I had a) passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, b) earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976, c) earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in 1970, and d) earned a high school diploma in 1966. By 1980, I had worked for IRS for almost 9 years. By 1971, I had worked for Firestone Stores for 10 months. I had passed the Federal Service Entrance Examination in 1970. I had passed the Post Office employment examination in 1966.

— COMMENT: Democrats say “Burr Ridge To Enforce New Gun Law: Officials. The police chief described how the registration requirement would be enforced.” (COMMENT: Under the law, assault weapons do not have to be registered until January 1, 2024. Exactly what will Grasso and Madden do now if they see someone in Burr Ridge with an assault weapon? Will they demand to see their FOID card? What else?)
(FROM THE ARTICLE: But he said officers called onto private property for unrelated matters would take action if unregistered weapons are in view. “I have been asked if this bill is a violation of the Constitution. That’s for the courts to decide,” Madden said. Mayor Gary Grasso agreed with the chief’s approach. “The point being is that the village will not turn a blind eye to the necessary enforcement of this law,” the mayor said. “Like all laws, the chief and officers will enforce them.” He said he wanted to make it clear where the village stands on the issue. “We follow the law and will let the courts decide on the propriety of the law,” Grasso said. The law is being challenged in the courts. Under its provisions, residents with “assault” weapons must register them starting Oct. 1. They have until Jan. 1 to do so.)
— COMMENT: Democrats say “Durkin Seat Hopefuls Kept Secret For Now. Parts of La Grange, Western Springs, Burr Ridge and Hinsdale are in the district.” Conservatives fear that another hate-filled conservative-hater will be selected to fill the seat. I should write a book about the biggest hate-filled conservative-hating Republican party leaders, elected officials, major donors, etc. in Illinois, DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton since 2000.)
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Two Republicans have applied for the state House seat left vacant by Rep. Jim Durkin, R-Western Springs, a party leader confirmed Thursday. But the leader declined to release the names. In a message to Patch, DuPage County Republican Party Chairman Jim Zay said the selection committee plans to meet Thursday night about the candidates for 82nd District state representative. He said the names would not be released until after that meeting, saying the committee would need to talk to all its members about it. Both Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso and Willow Springs Village President Melissa Neddermeyer have confirmed to Patch that they did not apply. Democrats and Republicans have no legal requirement to disclose the names of candidates who apply for legislative posts left vacant by party members. In fact, the parties have been known to keep the information under wraps. The 82nd District includes all or parts of Western Springs, La Grange, Hinsdale and Burr Ridge, among other towns. Durkin, who resigned last month, was the House Republican leader. In Illinois, a state representative’s district consists of about 105,000 people. Republicans plan to hold a public meeting involving interviews of “select” candidates, according to a party news release. The meeting is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the House Republican Organization office at 16W281 83rd St., Suite D, in Burr Ridge. Interested Republicans must have lived in the district for the last two years. For more information, call 217-553-7743 or email email@example.com.)
