January 2 Morning Edition

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Maximizing the number of Republican ballots cast in the March 17, 2020 Illinois primary election should be the top priority for the following: Trump, Republican National Committee, Republican National Senate Committee, Republican National Congressional Committee, Illinois Republican Party, your Republican county/township/ward party organizations, and your Republican Precinct Committeeman/Captain. What are the aforesaid doing to maximize the number of Republican ballots cast in the March 17, 2020 Illinois primary election? Each and every Republican and Independent voter in Illinois a) should know which offices and referendum will be on March 17, 2020 Republican primary election ballot in their precinct, who the Republican candidates are, and which races are contested and b) should be encouraged to take advantage of mail-in ballots and early voting. Each and every Republican Precinct Committeeman/Captain should know each and every Republican candidate on the ballot in their precinct and be able to answer questions about them from voters. Republican candidates frequently attend and speak at monthly Republican county/township/ward meetings. Your Republican Precinct Committeeman/Captain should regularly attend those meetings. Since 1999, I have the best record by far for attending Milton Township Republican Central Committee monthly meetings. – Dave Diersen

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— QUESTION: What should be included in the agenda for the January meeting of your Republican county/township/ward party organizations? ANSWER: a) election headquarters status, including location, hours of operation, and when yard signs, campaign literature, walk lists, envelopes, etc. can be picked up, b) efforts to fill vacant precinct committeeman/captain positions, c) upcoming bi-annual Republican county conventions, d) upcoming Illinois Republican Party state convention, e) upcoming party fundraisers, and f) efforts to recruit election judges. Meeting minutes should include the names of the candidates, elected officials, and party leaders who attended. – Dave Diersen

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Aurora Republican Raquel Mitchell shares the sentiment, if not the party. “I really believe in the president. I believe in what he’s doing,” the Wheatland Township trustee said of incumbent Donald Trump. “Nothing is more important to me.” Filing takes place today and Friday for delegates running in the March 17 primary election. . .Illinois Republicans will send 65 delegates to the Republican National Convention in August in Charlotte, North Carolina, with 54 chosen by voters. There are three GOP delegates from each congressional district. Retired Cook County Circuit Judge Tony Iosco can’t wait to cast another vote for Trump. The president “resonates with the average American,” said Iosco, a 2016 convention delegate. “People may not like him, but they like what he’s doing. Unemployment is low and the stock market is booming.” As Mitchell circulates petitions, she finds Republicans are eager to talk about impeachment. “They hate what’s going on in Washington D.C. with the president and are enthused about signing,” she said. . .During a social event at Draft Picks in Naperville last month, sponsored by the Trump campaign and state Republicans, Mitchell collected signatures as Illinois GOP Chairman Tim Schneider rallied the crowd. “This is Trump country,” Schneider said, adding stakes are high in 2020 with local congressional seats up for grabs and a referendum on a state progressive income tax, in addition to the presidency. “We have to fight Democrats all the way,” Schneider said. “Are you all with me?”)

They would stress that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster, Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member, or American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member. They would stress the adverse actions that my Democrat superiors in the federal government took against me including that my GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take a $20,157 (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980.)

— Why Is America So Depressed? It’s no coincidence that our politics and our mental health have declined so rapidly, at the same time. – Lee Siegel (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, in Illinois, those who are religious, conservative, and/or Republican, and especially those who are Trump supporters, Protestant, patriotic, White, male, older, non-poor, gun owners, German American, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time, are depressed because those in Illinois who claim to be religious, conservative, and/or Republican leaders fail/refuse to defend/advance the traditional family, right to life, immigration, Second Amendment, illegal drugs, gambling, equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving), and other planks in the Republican Party platform.)

LOS ANGELES TIMES

Democrat plants, Libertarian plants, Green plants, and RINOs in the DuPage County Republican Central Committee (DCRCC) and the nine Republican township organizations have absolutely no problem with the aforesaid. They focus on discouraging the DCRCC and the nine Republican township organizations from doing anything to maximize the number of Republican ballots cast in the March 17, 2020 Illinois primary election.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: 3. Clean out your inbox “Zero inbox,” or having no unread emails, is considered by some to be akin to achieving a state of internet nirvana. It’s something I strive for personally, but I try not to obsess over it. Depending on your rate of correspondence, maintaining a zero inbox may be an unnecessary distraction. Rather, the New Year might simply be a good time to unsubscribe from all that junk mail you receive. In accordance with CAN-SPAM legislation, it’s required by U.S. law that commercial email (e.g. newsletters and marketing material) “must include a clear and conspicuous explanation of how the recipient can opt-out of getting email” from the company in the future. So look for an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email. If you have Gmail, use the spam filter. If you want to go one step further, the FTC has recommendations that will scale back email, snail-mail, and spam phone calls.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Nolan, a local historian, author and civil rights activist, insists it only advances a false, racist belief that Englishmen founded America and created the system of slavery that defined this country. “It makes me want to scream,” says Nolan. “You’re robbing black history.” The truth is Spaniards settled in St. Augustine, Florida, with enslaved blacks more than a half-century before any arrived in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619 aboard a ship captured by English pirates. Historical records document the presence of black slaves dating back to their arrival in what was known as Spanish Florida in 1565. They built military forts, hunted food, cut wood and later even created a settlement for freed blacks, Fort Mose. But the influence and significance of the Spanish on the country’s founding was ignored and lost as English laws, language and culture established a stronghold in the new nation. Historians and other interested parties challenged writers in the 19th and 20th centuries and tried to spread the story of Spanish settlers and slaves in St. Augustine through exhibits, lectures and books. Still, the 1619 narrative carried on in history books and popular culture.)
