ILLINOIS REPUBLICAN PARTY
— SCC & RCCA 2026 Agenda.  DD: I have been a Republican Precinct Committeeman (RPC) since 1999. It would be great if RPCs got monthly emails from the Illinois Republican Party chairman, their IRP State Central Committee member, and their county/township/ward party leader that kept them up-to-date on what RPCs should know.

— According to Google AI, “Roughly 43% to 49% of Americans view the Republican Party’s political stance as “too conservative,” according to long-standing national tracking polls. The phrase “too conservative” is frequently used in American political discourse to describe public perception of the party’s platform, specific legislative proposals, and judicial rulings.” According to my critics/opponents, I have always been too conservative, that is, I have always promoted conservative principles and Republican Party platform planks that they reject, most commonly its personal responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration, anti-vice, Second Amendment, and equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks. But political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative. Democrat leaders aggressively promote the anti-conservative Democrat Party platform. RINO leaders fail/refuse to defend and advance the Republican Party platform. – Dave Diersen

— What is your Republican Precinct Committeeman going to do to get out the vote? As the Republican Precinct Committeeman for DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 59 in Wheaton, I will hand-deliver to the 400 residences in my precinct that have at least one Republican or one Independent registered voter a copy of the sample ballot, campaign literature from all the candidates who provide their literature to the Milton Township Republican Organization (MTRO), and a MTRO voter guide. I have obtained a PDF file from the DuPage County Election Division mailing labels for the 660 Republican and Independent registered voters in my precinct. I have printed out those labels, I have affixing them to envelopes provided by MTRO, and put them into five batches in walk order. I will be stuffing those envelopes with MTRO’s voter guide, literature from the candidates, and the sample ballot. The Republican candidates on the ballot in my precinct are: Tracy, Bailey/Del Mar, Fioretti, Harris, Drew, Soloman, Oakley, Lewis, Vrankovich, Grasso, Noonan, Schiappa, Henry, Eckhoff, Michaud, Schultz, Quirk, and Helland. Literature from the 17 Republican candidates on the ballot in my precinct, the voter guide, and the sample ballot is 19 X 400 or 7,600 pieces. As soon as I have at least 100 literature pieces from each of the candidates, I will start stuffing with the sample ballot to be added last. – Dave Diersen

I was a public sector employee 1966-1969 and 1971-1997. According to my critics/opponents, if I had been a private sector employee, I never would have been able to earn $154,682/year in today’s dollars even though I earned three job-related master’s degrees, six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license.  Even worse than that, according to my GAO superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates, if GAO had hired me when I was 22 instead of IRS, GAO would not have promoted me when I was 23, 24, and 25. The regulations currently apply to more than two million employers, at an estimated cost of $275 million each year and $4 million for the agency to administer the data collection. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Oregon voters narrowly approved one of the nation’s most restrictive gun control measures in 2022. It’s been a boondoggle process of court challenges and implementation delays since then. But Oregonians have responded to the impending restrictions by racing to exercise their Second Amendment rights before the government could make doing so substantially more difficult. New research now puts hard numbers behind that response. Researchers studying Oregon’s Ballot Measure 114 found firearm-related background checks surged 157 percent immediately following the election. The rush to lawfully purchase firearms wasn’t a flash in the pan, either. Eighteen months later, researchers still identified roughly 63,000 additional firearm-related background checks beyond what otherwise would have been expected. The message is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. When government threatens to put a constitutional right behind a permission slip, Americans exercise that right in massive numbers before the restrictions arrive. Oregonians Saw the Door Closing. Measure 114 passed with just 50.7 percent of the vote in November 2022. It created a permit-to-purchase requirement, mandated firearm safety training, implemented an additional completed background check before a permit could be issued and prohibited the manufacture, sale and transfer of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds, with limited exceptions. NSSF challenged the ballot measure at the time as unconstitutional. Oregonians were clear-eyed about what was coming.)

PJ MEDIA
— The Democratic Socialists of America Are ‘Deminazis.’ DD: To vote for Democrats is to vote first for socialism, then for communism, and then for totalitarianism. How strongly are the Republican candidates on the November 3, 2026 ballot in your precinct stressing that?
https://pjmedia.com/tim-o-brien/2026/08/14/the-democratic-socialists-of-america-are-deminazis-n4956152
(FROM THE ARTICLE: There is no entry in the Associated Press (AP) style book for “Deminazi,” and there likely never will be. That doesn’t make it any less accurate a descriptor for the dominant faction of the left known as the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The closest I could come to a correct usage is to refer back to the inspiration behind the term – Rush Limbaugh’s descriptor for the feminist movement: “feminazis.” All one word, no capital “n.” Works for me. Along these same lines, it’s a shame Graham Platner had to drop out of the Senate race in Maine and go home, taking his Nazi tattoo along with him. Since the DSA has conducted its takeover of the Democrat Party, that was the only notable instance of truth in advertising. Still, if we’re not careful, the socialists are on their way to taking over the country. Any DSA cult member who might read this would likely repeat the party’s key message point: “We’re not socialists, we’re Democratic socialists.” Right. Aesop, the creator of those classic and rather dark children’s fables, may have had the DSA in mind when he wrote “The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.” He could just as easily have called the tale, “The Commie Who Will Lie and Do Anything It Takes to Win the 2026 Midterms.” That said, one of the tricks today’s “DSA wolf” uses to seduce young people and unsuspecting voters is to skip over all of the lessons of socialism and communism throughout history and go right back to that age-old doctrine on paper that sounds so good to so many. Concepts like: “Each according to his ability, to each according to his needs;” “People over profit;” “Redistribution of wealth;” and more bluntly, “Tax the rich.” All of it is designed to appeal to that part of us that just doesn’t always want to do the work it takes to succeed in life, but instead, to become a nameless, faceless part of a larger group that will take care of us. Those of us who ignore that part of ourselves are not the targeted market for the DSA. If you’re talking to the right people, usually the powerless or those who feel powerless, the concept practically sells itself. Just ask Lenin, Mao, Castro, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Hasan Piker, and now Abdul El-Sayed. Socialism is a loss leader for totalitarianism. Those who’ve actually read a history book or two know that socialism is always a soft-sell – the loss-leader, the gateway drug to communism. While the two aren’t interchangeable, they’re on the same road. While socialism calls for the state to own and control the means of production, in reality, once the state gets that far, it pretty much finishes the job and takes control of everything. Karl’s Marx’s vision for a communist utopia called for a classless society where there is common ownership of the means of production. Sounds just so nice, doesn’t it? Both socialist and communist idealism quickly falls apart when you realize that someone has to be in charge. Someone has to set priorities, oversee all of this, and be the boss. In other words, some human being still has to have more power than everyone else. But since under socialism and communism, self-governance is not really their thing (that would be something akin to American democracy), in practice, socialists find other ways to determine who’s in charge. In China, Mao Zedong rose to power through his own embrace and interpretation of Marxist ideology, applying it to Chinese society, particularly in rural areas. He became the dominant leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the mid-1930s. Then in 1949 he established the People’s Republic of China. Mao’s version of communism, the brand Piker seems to favor these days, was responsible for the deaths of 40 to 80 million Chinese, due largely to famine, but also a million or two were killed as part of his “Cultural Revolution.” People who weren’t quite on board with Mao suffered violent deaths through purges and in his famous “re-education camps.” Once someone decides your country is going to be socialist, which is a stepping stone to communism, you’ve pretty much given up your own rights and voice. You’ve surrendered them to the group. But since everyone else did the same thing, “the collective” will always consist of a small handful of people at the top (oligarchs) who knew all along it was a ruse, something they had to use to eventually win absolute power over you. Funny thing is, if you visit an American college campus this Fall, and you see that the DSA and socialism are all the rage, just like Taylor Swift and Black Lives Matter (BLM) were in recent years, none of those kids will know much about that whole absolute-power-over-you thing. They’re not thinking this through. Even if they did, they’d be hard-pressed to comprehend that socialist totalitarians have a tendency to let people die or actively kill them to consolidate power. Why totalitarians like socialism. One of the catchphrases about socialism is that, “Yes it has been tried before, but they have never done it the right way,” or some variation of that. In Russia, Vladimir Lenin led the Bolsheviks from the October 1917 Revolution until his death in 1924, which was preceded by a series of strokes. Like Mao, Lenin sold the people on what New York’s Mamdani has called “the warmth of collectivism.” They ate that stuff up. But as is always the case, since under socialism and communism, there is no democratic decision-making, the shots are called by one or two or a handful of people who aren’t bashful about grabbing power and wielding it, usually mercilessly, and often violently. Lenin personally oversaw something called “The Red Terror,” which killed 140,000 to 200,000 threats to his power. Joseph Stalin succeeded Lenin, and he wasn’t all that into empathy or mercy, either. His brand of socialism and communism looked much like that of every other socialist or communist leader, except to scale. To make sure the people knew who was in charge under “Stalinism,” he oversaw the direct killing of 6 million people who didn’t fall in line, but that number rises to 9 million if you count famine. From an economic standpoint, socialism and communism are shortcuts to mass starvation and death as well. At the same time, what always starts as an ideology that promises a perfect world through the power of the collective always ends with a totalitarian in charge. And to make sure that totalitarian stays in charge, many, many people have to pay the price, always with their freedom, often with their lives. This all brings us to perhaps the most notorious socialists in history and his fascist sidekicks, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Since both Hitler and Mussolini were known as much for waging war against the rest of the world as for destroying lives and killing large segments of their own populations, for our purposes here, we’ll keep the focus narrower and center on a couple of terms. This is important because one thing the DSA and its allies like to do is frame Hitler as “far right,” and fascism as far right. The presumption is that socialism by definition is leftist, and so it can’t be fascist. Hitler was a socialist. Hitler was part of and eventually led the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP), also known as the Nazi Party. Mention this to any leftist today, and you’ll hear a word salad about how Hitler’s version of socialism wasn’t the same thing that they espouse, or that he really wasn’t a true socialist because he was a fascist. The fact is, however, there was a reason Hitler called himself a socialist, and that’s because he was one. Then he did what just about all socialist leaders do when they get power: They add “totalitarian” to their resumes. Mussolini is credited with serving as the father of fascism, an ignoble moniker if ever there was one. He entered politics as a socialist and became a prominent member of the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). That party kicked him out in 1914 due to his advocacy for Italian intervention in the First World War. After that, he said something like, “Screw it, I’m just going to come up with my own thing and call it fascism,” though I believe he said it in Italian. Mussolini’s fascism retained or adapted several socialist characteristics, including the way the party was organized, the way the people were mobilized, a hatred of individualism, the rhetoric of revolution, and most importantly, the belief that your economic life exists to serve the larger collective. That’s Mussolini, the OG of fascism. The pattern through all of these examples is that socialism is an excellent pathway, and a well-worn one, on the way to communism, then to dictatorial fascism and totalitarianism. ‘Deminazis’ want to follow in the socialist tradition. Against this backdrop, the DSA today has built itself on a platform that may sound familiar to students of history, particularly students of German socialist or Nazi history. The DSA wants universal healthcare, which means government control over every citizen’s health decisions and health outcomes, not to mention government access to every citizen’s private health information. Imagine that kind of power in the hands of a totalitarian. The DSA wants “housing for all,” which like the healthcare item, puts government in control over every citizen’s home, whether he or she has a home, and the quality of that home. In the process, it puts government, and the small group of people in charge of government, in control over your quality of life. This sort of power can be wielded to reward you or punish you. The DSA wants free college for all. Not that universities need much encouragement here, but such a policy would codify that university campuses serve as nothing more than indoctrination camps. True to its organized labor roots, the DSA has much to say when it comes to work. Shorter workweeks, unionized workforces, higher wages, and likely higher union dues that end up finding their way back into “The Party.” To create dependency on government, rather than on individual industriousness, hard work, and innovation, the DSA really likes policies that require employers to pay people for not working, and policies that kill profitability and productivity. These agenda items include long periods of paid family leave, costly regulations tied to “climate change,” and higher taxes on businesses and business owners. The DSA’s “Free Palestine” pillar has been widely used as cover for antisemitism and all of the targeted discrimination and targeted and violent attacks on Jews, which are on the rise. It’s also been used to attack federal policymaking and foreign relations, including the country’s relationship with Israel. The DSA wants to cut U.S. military spending while knowing that the country’s adversaries, like China and Russia, are building their military strength. And why would that be? I’m getting a “Manchurian candidate” vibe here. The DSA is working to make it palatable to the masses to consider the piece-by-piece destruction of American democracy, starting with the dilution of citizen self-governance, declaring that non-citizens be given the same rights and the same voice in the nation’s governance. It wants to abolish the Senate, abolish the Electoral College, jerry-rig and expand Congress in accordance with its own designs, reduce the power of the Supreme Court, and pack the Supreme Court. None of this happens overnight, of course, but if they are eventually successful, it will be because we lost democracy piece by piece. Every single one of these items, if implemented, would help to put America on the same well-trodden path that failed socialist and communist states have followed before. But failure is in the eye of the beholder. If you really believe in socialism as written on paper, then maybe these others have failed. But if you see socialism as a pathway to totalitarianism, then they were wildly successful, the most notable one being the case of that little German guy with the funny mustache who showed us what socialism looks like if you follow it to its logical conclusion. In America, as we look ahead to the 2026 midterms, the DSA has enough momentum to constitute too much momentum. We as a nation should know by now socialism just can’t be on the table, but it is. And that’s why the Democratic Party is no longer a “democratic” party; it’s why the DSA has nothing to do with democracy; and it’s why the most fitting brand for the Democrats and the DSA is the “Deminazis.”)

— How To Build A Career That Isn’t Dependent On One Job.  DD: Private sector employers look down on public sector employees. The longer that you work in the public sector, the harder it is to get a job in the private sector. My having been a public sector employee for almost 3 years harmed my efforts to get good job in the private sector after I earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU when I was 21 in 1970. In anticipation of that, as a fallback, I took and passed the Federal Service Entrance Examination before I graduated. I would not have become an IRS employee when I was 22 a) if my Firestone Store boss had not rudely fired me because I had accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile and b) if Oldsmobile had not withdrawn that offer because it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. Because I refused to become a Democrat, my Democrat IRS superiors did everything they could to get rid of me. They got rid of the IRS manager who had promoted me in when I was 23, 24, and 25. They disallowed my travel vouchers when I was 25. They ignored/dismissed/belittled my earning an MBA when I was 27. They disallowed my education deductions when I was 29. They ignored/dismissed/belittled my passing the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30. They ever-increasing made it clear that they would never promote me to GS-13. Of course, the aforesaid made it ever-increasingly impossible for me to get any kind of job anywhere. Because of the aforesaid, to get promoted to GS-13, I took a $23,699/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer to GAO. My Democrat GAO superiors did promote me to GS-13, but not until I was 38. They would never have promoted me a) if I had not earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31, b) if I had not passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt when I was 32, c) if I had not became a licensed CPA when I was 32, and d) if the GAO manager who had arranged my transfer had not gotten back into power.

— Millions of Americans Are Retiring Earlier Than They’d Planned To. You will face multiple problems if you’re forced to retire early. DD: My retirement income and savings are dramatically less because my Democrat superiors in the federal government wasted my career and forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997. But far worse than that, my critics/opponents viciously use against me my being forced to retire early. They hint/imply/argue/shout that I am a bad person and that is why I was forced to retire early. They hint/imply/argue/shout that I am an extremely bad person because I was forced to retire even though I had three job-related master’s degrees, six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license. They stress that I passed the CPA and Certified Internal Auditor examinations on my first attempt, something that none of my superiors, supervisors, coworkers, or subordinates did.

They were ever-increasingly furious at my and my wife’s ever-increasing income and net worth. — Taking a gigantic pay cut. DD: Who do you know who has suffered a gigantic loss of income? My wife and I could afford my taking a $86,042/year (56%) loss of income in today’s dollars when I was 49 in 1997 because I succumbed to my Democrat GAO superiors who forced me to their early retirement “offer.” We could afford taking that gigantic loss of income a) because of my wife’s salary and benefits, b) because we had no children, c) because we had no debts, d) because we already had substantial retirement savings, and e) because our 72% health insurance premium subsidy continued.

MINNEAPOLIS FED
— The broken rungs on the U.S. job ladder. DD: Who do you know who voluntarily took a pay cut to get promoted? I voluntarily took a $23,699/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO when I was 31 in 1980. I did that to get promoted to GS-13. My Democrat IRS superiors had made it clear that they would never promote me to GS-13 because I refused to become a Democrat. They had gotten rid of the IRS manager who had promoted me when I was 23, 24, and 25. They had disallowed my travel vouchers when I was 25. They had disallowed my education deductions when I was 29. GAO ultimately did promote me to GS-13, but not until I was 38. By then, I had become a licensed CPA when I was 32, passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt when I was 32, earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31, passed the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30, and earned an MBA when I was 27. The Democrats who ran GAO would never have promoted me to GS-13 if the GAO manager who had arranged my transfer had not gotten back into power. They forced him to retire when I was 38.

GUARDIAN
— Millions in China cram for civil service exam and the hope of a job for life. Amid troubled economic times, many in China are shifting back towards the certainty of a career in the public sector. DD: I would not have spent almost 30 years of my life working in the public sector if my high school friend had not asked me to join him to take the postal employment test in 1966. Because I passed, I was a part-time postal employee while I attended UIC 1966-1968 and NIU in 1969. I graduated from NIU in 1970 and accepted the only job offer that I got, to be the Retail Sales Manager in a Firestone Store, a job that not really require a college degree.  Potential employers saw me as being draft bait. They did not believe that my application for a financial hardship draft deferment to help support my mother and brother would be approved.  I accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile in 1971, but Oldsmobile withdrew that offer saying it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. My Firestone Store boss rudely fired me because I had accepted that offer. Because I had to have a job, I accepted a job offer that I got from IRS. I had taken and passed the Federal Service Entrance Examination while I was a NIU student as a backup because public sector employees are viewed negatively.

— The federal government has just radically changed the way it measures higher education outcomes. Now for the first time, all programs that participate in the federal student loan program will be held accountable for the earnings of their graduates. DD: After earning a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU in 1970, earning an MBA from Loyola in 1976, passing the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, earning a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, passing the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981, becoming a licensed CPA in 1981, earning four more job-related professional certifications in 1990, 1994, 1996, and 1997, and earning a master’s degree in finance from IIT in 1997, my IRS salary was salary in today’s dollars $56,409/year in 1971, $68,999/year in 1972, $83,482/year in 1973, $100,059/year in 1974, and $113,402/year in 1980 and my GAO salary was $89,703/year in 1980, $108,533/year in 1981, $118,984/year in 1986, and $154,682/year in 1997.

— FRONT PAGE TOP OF FOLD: Fewer Workers Keep Unemployment Low. (FROM THE ARTICLE: The Social Security Fairness Act restored full benefits for millions of public workers but can push retirees past the $109,000 IRMAA threshold. Crossing the IRMAA cliff by even $1 raises Part B premiums from $203 to $284 monthly, plus a $15 Part D surcharge. Roth conversions and Qualified Charitable Distributions up to $105,000 annually are the two tools to shrink MAGI before RMDs begin at 73.)

MONEY & MARKETS
— Private Sector vs. Public Sector. DD: I worked in the private sector for 10 years, then in the public sector for 30 years, and concurrently in both for 2 years. According to my critics/opponents, the public sector grossly overpaid me. In today’s dollars, when I was a postal employee for almost 3 years 1966-1969 and then an IRS employee for almost 9 years 1971-1980, my salary increased from $19.57/hour to $113,402/year. In my defense, during that time, I earned a bachelor’s degree in management, I earned an MBA, I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt, and I almost completed the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting. In today’s dollars, my IRS salary was $56,409/year when I was 22 in 1971, $68,999/year when I was 23, $83,482/year when I was 24, $100,059/year when I was 25, and $113,402/year when I was 31. In today’s dollars, my GAO salary was $89,703/year when I was 31, $108,533/year when I was 32, $118,984/year when I was 38, and $154,682/year when I was 49. I earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31. I passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt and became a licensed CPA when I was 32. I earned four more job-related professional certifications when I was 41, 45, 47, and 48. I earned a master’s degree in finance when I was 48. If I had been a Democrat, minority, female, or veteran my Democrat superiors would have promoted me into their Senior Executive Service, currently $197,200/year, long before I was 40.

BLOOMBERG LAW
— Civil Service Protections Benefit the Public, Not Just the Feds. DD: Democrats run the federal government. For Democrats, the federal government exists to hire, retain, and promote Democrats who are minority, female, younger, and/or veteran. I am none of the aforesaid. To get rid of me, my Democrat Post Office, IRS, and GAO superiors punished me a) for my not becoming a Democrat, b) for my avoiding the Vietnam War draft, c) for my complaining about their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation, and d) for my being an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with the aforesaid. Federal employees who are the following have no Civil Service protections: conservative, Republican, White, male, older, non-veteran, German American, and/or have ancestors who have been in America for a long time. Unions provide some protection. But GAO did not unionize until 2007. If GAO had been unionized when I transferred from IRS to GAO when I was 31 in 1980, my Democrat GAO superiors might not have been able to take the many big adverse actions against me that they did including forcing me to retire when I was 49 in 1997.

BALLS AND STRIKES
— Upwardly Mobile Black People. DD: My Democrat GAO superiors certainly made my Black subordinate upwardly mobile when I was 49 in 1997. He had one professional certification while I had six. He had no professional license like the one I had.

FEDERAL NEWS NETWORK
— Veterans’ preference, merit hiring and the federal government’s obligation to follow the law. DD: Because I was not a veteran, but more significantly, because I avoided the Vietnam War draft, my Democrat Post Office, Firestone Store, IRS, and GAO superiors used the veterans’ preference to waste my career and to get rid of me. I should write about my many Democrat superiors and supervisors who took many big adverse actions against me. All my coworkers who my Democrat superiors in the federal government promoted over me and who were Democrat veterans a) had less education than I had, b) had less work experience than I had, c) had no professional certification or fewer than I had, and/or d) had no professional license like the one I had.

https://www.dailyherald.com/20260727/editorials/daily-herald-opinion-the-practical-struggle-for-relevance-campaign-finance-picture-shows-the-chall/
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: Our Russell Lissau’s campaign finance update for the November election last Sunday painted a grim picture for Republican candidates at the state and federal level in Illinois. Even more important is the grim picture it forebodes for American politics broadly. First, consider the immediate circumstance. As Lissau reported, Democratic candidates are overwhelmingly better fortified financially than Republicans, with many of their coffers swelling with $1 million or more. For the GOP, only one candidate reports having saved more than $100,000. In such a setting, Republican candidates cannot hope to keep pace with their opposition in getting their message out to voters through public appearances, online and broadcast advertising or other avenues. As a result, in the manner of a vicious circle, potential donors are holding onto their money, which only deepens the candidates’ predicament. College of DuPage political science professor Melissa Mouritsen described the situation in chilling terms. “This little cash so late in the game,” she said, “means few are taking them seriously.” It is troubling enough when a candidate in even one race is so irrelevant that he or she is not taken seriously. When the condition applies to a large body of candidates or even an entire party, that is a disturbing commentary on the state of our politics and the health of our democracy. Nor does the situation involve simply a lack of money. To an even greater extent, it involves the ability of some candidates to amass too much money, often from sources with much to gain from political favor. In such cases, the vicious cycle works in reverse, steadily expanding the war chests of candidates with an already decisive edge. Even before the 2010 Citizens United decision threw open the doors to unrestricted political donors and donations, many political observers fretted about the influence of money in politics. Sixteen years later, the situation is reaching a state of crisis. This crisis is exacerbated by another political factor — this one, too, enabled by a compliant Supreme Court seemingly indifferent to the quality of American self-government. It is the remaking of political boundaries that allows a party in power to tilt voting outcomes in its favor, commonly known as gerrymandering. To be sure, the Trump-shackled Republican Party suffers from certain self-inflicted ailments related to failures on traditional issues like guns and butter. But even discounting those, gerrymandering and all-but-unrestricted campaign fundraising have combined to put Republicans in Illinois in a life-or-death struggle for relevancy. This is not exactly a surprising or new observation, and its opposite is abundantly present in states like Republican-entrenched Florida, South Carolina and many more. But what is surprising is that more candidates of both parties are not rebelling against the conditions that so threaten the health of our political system. The solutions to gerrymandering and financial inequity among campaigns are not simple, and likely demand the difficult and complicated intercession of constitutional amendments. So, it is understandable that politicians avoid the complex, ugly work of producing systemic change and instead shift their messaging toward topics that involve people’s lives more directly and immediately. But it also should be obvious, as Republicans in Illinois offer ample evidence, that getting those messages out — not to mention getting them across — is growing more difficult by the year. At some point, and we urge candidates to make it soon, we’ve got to begin building more prominent messages about the fundamental scaffolding required to take seriously discussions of those direct and immediate issues.)

— The Trump administration wants soldiers to consider becoming truck drivers when they leave the military to help replace the tens of thousands of immigrant drivers who lost their licenses in a crackdown this year. A new campaign launched Friday will promote programs that let veterans who recently drove large military vehicles skip the required skills test for a commercial driver’s license. Other soldiers can attend a commercial driving school during their last six months of active duty. The GI Bill will also pay for 100% of commercial driver’s license training and for some people even pay a housing allowance while they are in school.  DD: I often drove postal trucks while I worked for the Post Office 1966-1969.

— Illinois GOP’s anemic fundraising underscores its life in the political wilderness
https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/07/28/darren-bailey-jb-pritzker-margaret-croke-juliana-stratton-don-tracy/
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: Money talks, particularly in politics. And, right now, campaign donations are underscoring just how much of a one-party state Illinois has become. Democrats are dominating Republicans not just in the marquee races, but nearly every statewide contest. Consider the assets of our two major-party gubernatorial candidates. Incumbent JB Pritzker started July with over $3.1 million in his JB for Governor campaign fund. Republican Darren Bailey, on the other hand, began the month with less than $128,000. The fact that enthusiasm isn’t high given that Bailey lost to Pritzker in 2022 likely explains some of the disparity. So does billionaire Pritzker’s ability to self-finance — he has already spent hundreds of millions of dollars of his own fortune across his gubernatorial campaigns and seeded this reelection effort with another $25.5 million last fall. Not helping either is the shadow of an unpopular Trump administration. With conservative megadonor Richard Uihlein opting to observe from the sidelines, Republican funding has dried up. We’d argue that perhaps this is a prime opportunity for someone with more moderate conservative instincts to swoop in and fill the gap — Uihlein’s cash was both a blessing and a curse, as it tended to come with strings attached. In 2022, Uihlein gave more than $12 million directly to Bailey, doubling down on his commitment to oust Pritzker by pouring $42 million into an outside super PAC. This cycle, he has largely stayed out of statewide races. Among Bailey’s largest donors is former 2022 gubernatorial candidate Gary Rabine, who chipped in $25,000; a large sum, to be sure, but unless Bailey can start courting similar investments from other folks it won’t bridge the gap. But it’s not just the competition for governor, as Tribune reporting laid out last week. Don Tracy’s U.S. Senate bid has drawn far less financial support than his opponent, Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton. Stratton emerged victorious in a challenging primary thanks in large part to $10 million from Pritzker. From April 2025 through June 2026, Stratton accepted roughly $5.3 million in general-election campaign contributions, according to FEC records. Tracy’s campaign, on the other hand, took in less than $2.5 million from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, including a $2 million personal loan he made to his own campaign. In the race for comptroller, Democratic nominee Margaret Croke has double the cash on hand compared with her Republican opponent. In spite of this vast gulf, this is currently the most competitive race for a constitutional office, based on fundraising. The bigger question isn’t whether the GOP can close the fundraising gap, but whether Illinois’ increasingly one-sided political landscape is healthy for voters, who benefit most when both parties are capable of mounting a serious challenge. We don’t think so. When one party no longer worries about losing elections, the incentives change. The pressure to compromise weakens. Difficult reforms become easier to postpone. The opposition becomes less capable of forcing uncomfortable but necessary debates. That truth is made evident repeatedly. Weak political competition doesn’t affect only elections — it affects governing. A recent headline in this paper read, “Illinois Democrats’ single-party rule and diminished GOP may shield Springfield from Benton scandal reforms.” That’s our sad reality. Whether it’s Springfield’s failure to confront Illinois’ property tax burden, billion-dollar spending plans that avoid structural reform, or another legislative session that produces hundreds of new laws with comparatively little attention paid to tackling our most pressing fiscal and economic challenges, our lopsided state government isn’t yielding the results Illinois needs. A more competitive political playing field would offer voters something they’re perpetually lacking these days: Options. A little variety, which is said to be the spice of life. Or, in politics, the push and pull needed to rein in the worst impulses of both sides. It’ll take funding to give voters more of a choice in November. But cash requires confidence. And the Illinois GOP isn’t doing enough to inspire it.)

— The Case for Prohibiting Vice. DD: Democrat and RINO leaders ever-increasingly promote more vice.
https://nationalaffairs.com/publications/detail/case-prohibiting-vice

DEFENSE SCOOP
— Hegseth directs removal of underperformers. DD: My Democrat superiors always hinted/implied that I underperformed and that was why they took adverse actions against me. They always used the subjectivity in their performance systems against me. In my defense, extremely few of my Post Office coworkers earned a job-related bachelor’s degree like I did. Very few of my IRS and GAO coworkers earned job-related master’s degrees and professional certifications like I did. None of my coworkers earned a job-related professional license like I did. All of my coworkers who my Democrat superiors promoted over me were Democrats who a) had less education than I had, b) had less work experience than I had, c) had no professional certification or fewer than I had, and/or d) had no professional license like the one I had. My Democrat GAO superiors used the subjectivity in their performance appraisal systems to a) force me to retire when I was 49 in 1997, b) always rank me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance, c) delay my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13, and d) force me to take a $23,699/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors used that subjectivity to never promote me beyond GS-12, disallow my education deductions in 1978, and disallow my travel vouchers in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors used that subjectivity to force me to resign in 1969 and disallow my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968. They would not have done that if I had been a Democrat, minority, female, and/or veteran. For Democrats, the federal government exists to hire, retain, and promote Democrats who are minority, female, younger, veteran, non-Protestant, non-German American, and/or have ancestors who have not been in America for a long time.

— What influences teens’ career expectations? DD: My father’s often decrying his not having a college degree had a big impact on me. ECONOMIST
— Knowing what your colleagues earn. DD: Federal employees have always known what their superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates earn, that is, what GS Grade and Step they were. My GAO, IRS and Post Office superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates always saw that those who my Democrat superiors promoted over me a) had less education than I had, b) had less work experience than I had, c) had no professional certification or fewer than I had, and/or d) had no professional license like the one I had.

— Four in 10 employees admit sabotaging colleagues to get ahead. DD: To get promoted, my Democrat GAO, IRS, and Post Office coworkers sabotaged me. They stressed that I was conservative, Republican, draft avoider, Protestant, German American, Crete resident 1948-1972, Wheaton resident since 1978, and my ancestors had been in America since 1844.

JUSTICE FOR ALL
— India: Caste And Implications. DD: What Caste were you born into? Neither of my parents attended college. My father was only the first of my ancestors to earn a high school diploma. He never earned more than $50,000/year in today’s dollars. He almost always worked second jobs to pay the family’s bills. He died suddenly when he was 47 and I was 21, My mother never attended high school. All my grandparent spoke German. I had to work my way through college. Nevertheless, my critics/opponents have always outrageously, disgustingly, falsely, and unethically painted my parents as having been filthy rich. They have always known full-well that I did yard work 1962-1964, delivered newspapers 1962-1966, washed dishes 1964-1966, cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966, delivered mail 1966-1969, worked on an automotive assemble line in 1970, sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971, pumped more gasoline 1971-1972, collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980, and audited federal agencies 1980-1997. I should write about my critics/opponents. I would focus on those whose parents were the wealthiest.

— Standardized tests. DD: My critics/opponents have always attributed my success in passing standardized tests to my benefitting tremendously from tremendous discrimination against those who share their demographics. I passed all the tests needed to earn a) a job-related bachelor’s degree, b) three job-related master’s degrees, c) six job-related professional certifications, and d) a job-related professional license. The Democrats who ran the Post Office in 1966, IRS in 1971, and GAO in 1980 hired me because they could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. I would not have survived as a federal employee for almost 30 years if I had not a) passed the postal employment test when I was 17 in 1966, b) passed the Federal Entrance Examination when I was 21, c) earned a bachelor’s degree in business when I was 21, d) earned an MBA when I was 27, e) passed the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30, f) earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31, g) passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt when I was 32, h) became a licensed CPA when I was 32, i) earned four more job-related professional certifications when I was 41, 45, 47, and 48, and j) earned a master’s degree in finance when I was 48. — Who do you know that has served as the chairman of a political organization? It is a thankless job. I know. I served as the chairman of TAPROOT Republican of Illinois 2005-2012. I agree with Illinois Republican Party (IRP) chairman Bob Grogan who told the Chicago Sun-Times “You get blamed for everything and credit for nothing” and that Trump has the “hardest job in the world, and I probably have the second hardest job in the world, being chairman of the Illinois Republican Party.” While served as the TAPROOT chairman, my critics/opponents ever-increasingly blamed me and blamed my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters for all the defeats suffered by Republican candidates on ballots in my DuPage County Milton Township precinct in Wheaton. I should write about my critics/opponents. I would focus on past and present a) leaders of the Milton Township Republican Organization, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and IRP, b) Republican leaders of Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County, and Illinois, c) Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct and their political consultants, major donors, fundraisers, pollsters, campaign managers, campaign staff members, and campaign volunteers, d) conservative leaders, and e) religious leaders. What do you have in common with Grogan? Grogan and I are both long-time DuPage County residents, Republican Precinct Committeemen, licensed CPAs, Certified Fraud Examiners, and members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Illinois CPA Society. Grogan represented me on the IRP State Central Committee 2018-2022. I worked hard to elect Grogan and to reelect Grogan as DuPage County Auditor in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024.

— The Hunt for a Job Has Never Been Worse. DD: What was your post-graduate success? When I earned a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU when I was 21 in 1970, I had to have a job. Potential employers saw me as being draft bait. I had applied for a financial hardship draft deferment to help support my mother and brother, but potential employers did not believe it would be granted. So I accepted the only job offer that I got. It was being the Retail Sales Manager for the Firestone Store in Chicago Heights. But the job did not really require a college degree. To “learn the business,” I was required to dismount, mount, and balance many tires, pump lots of gasoline, change lots of engine oil and filters, change batteries, deliver major appliances to homes, etc. My Chicago Heights store boss would never had hired me, but his boss had assigned me to him. He did not have a college degree. He refused to let me start until after I passed a 2-week probationary period in the Firestone Store in Gary, Indiana. He disapproved of my avoiding the Vietnam War draft. He disapproved of my being Protestant, my being German American, my having ancestors who had been in America since 1844, and my living in Crete. Under him, I saw that my Firestone career was bleak if not nonexistent. Consequently, I accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile. But Oldsmobile withdrew that offer saying it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. He rudely if not violently fired me because I had accepted that offer. I had to have a job. So I accepted the only job offer that I got. It was to be an IRS Revenue Officer. Then, oddly, puzzlingly, he then offered me a job working part-time pumping gasoline which I accepted until he “asked” me to resign at the end of 1972. The money I earned helped me a) buy a new Corvette in 1971, b) pay for four graduate evening business courses at Loyola in 1972, and c) buy a new townhome in University Park in 1972.

— What Recent Court Decisions Mean for Federal Employee Job Security. DD: Because Democrats run the federal government, federal employees who are the following have no Civil Service protections: conservative, Republican, White, male, older, nonveteran, Protestant, German American, and/or have ancestors who have been in America for a long time. Have adverse actions been taken against you “for cause?” My critics/opponents have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that GAO forced me to retire “for cause” when I was 49 in 1997. They stress the adverse actions that my GAO superiors had taken against me previously. They had always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance. They had delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They had forced me to take a $23,699/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. Previously, my IRS superiors had never promoted me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, and disallowed my travel vouchers in 1974. Previously, my Post Office superiors had forced me to resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968. My critics/opponents have always ignored/dismissed/belittled the fact a) that Democrats run GAO, Democrats despise/hate Republicans, and I have always been a Republican, b) that all my GAO, IRS, and Post Office superiors who took the aforesaid actions against me were Democrats, c) that I had been an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged them with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation since 1988, and d) that I had ever-increasingly complained about their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. My critics/opponents have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that I must have been guilty of “gross malfeasance or negligence” or even worse things because the many big aforesaid adverse actions were taken against me even though I had a) earned job-related professional certifications in 1997, 1996, 1994, 1990, 1981, and 1979, b) earned job-related master’s degrees in 1997, 1981, and 1976, and c) earned a job-related professional license in 1981.

https://www.chicagobusiness.com/nonprofits-philanthropy/ccb-candid-candace-gary-sinise-veterans-salute-20260717/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: More than 7,000 patriotic fans packed Cantigny Park in Wheaton on July 11 for actor Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band’s largest concert to date. Rockin’ For Our Vets: America 250 was a record-breaking benefit for the West Suburban Foundation for Disabled Veterans. The concert raised awareness and support for the nonprofit’s mission of serving disabled veterans and their families. Guests began arriving early, filling the sprawling Parade Field as military displays, interactive exhibits, food vendors and the First Division Museum welcomed families throughout the day. The century-old Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band added another stirring patriotic touch to the afternoon’s ceremonies. The festivities officially kicked off with an America 250 program featuring distinguished veterans and inspiring guest speakers before the evening’s musical performances. Among the evening’s special guests was Benjamin Patton, grandson of General George S. Patton and founder of the Patton Veterans Project. He shared his personal story and introduced a moving video about his family’s military legacy, which spans generations and dates back to the American Revolution. Vietnam War hero and former Secret Service agent Capt. William “Hawk” Albracht shared his remarkable journey as one of the most decorated veterans of the Vietnam War. Former Army POW Jessica Lynch, whose story drew the nation’s attention during the Iraq War, was just 19 years old in 2003 when she was captured after her convoy was ambushed and rescued by U.S. Special Operations. Country star HunterGirl (Hunter Wolkonowski), a fan favorite from “American Idol,” kicked off the evening at 6 p.m. with a high-energy performance that had the crowd on its feet and set the perfect tone for the night’s festivities. An hour later, the moment thousands had been waiting for arrived as Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band took the stage. Their signature blend of classic rock, country hits and patriotic favorites transformed Cantigny’s Parade Field into one giant celebration. Fans sang along, waved American flags and danced well into the evening as Sinise, who has spent decades supporting America’s military community, delivered a performance that celebrated service, sacrifice and patriotism as much as it did the music. Leading the effort behind the event were Michelle Senatore, co-founder and president of the West Suburban Foundation for Disabled Veterans; U.S. Navy veteran and volunteer Staci Boyer; and a dedicated team of volunteers. Through programs that provide financial assistance, housing and transportation support, service dogs, mental health services and other essential resources, the nonprofit has become a vital lifeline for disabled veterans and their families. The organization’s mission is to ensure that those who have sacrificed for our country receive the support they deserve long after their military service has ended. With another successful event in the books, the West Suburban Foundation for Disabled Veterans is already looking ahead. Planning has begun for the return of Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band to Cantigny in 2027, continuing what organizers hope will become one of the region’s signature annual tributes to veterans.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— Career success. Measures of career success include salary, promotions, professional certifications, and professional licenses. According to my critics/opponents, my career working for IRS 1971-1980 and GAO 1980-1997 was an abject failure and they blame that on me. The Democrats who ran IRS hired me as a GS-7, currently $56,409/year, Revenue Officer when I was 22 in 1971 because I had earned a bachelor’s degree in business and passed the Federal Service Entrance Examination when I was 21. They promoted me to GS-9, currently $68,999/year, when I was 23, to GS-11, currently $83,482/year, when I was 24, and to GS-12, currently $100,059/year, when I was 25. Because they took adverse actions against me when I was 25 and 29 and made it clear that they would never promote me to GS-13, currently $118,984/year even though I had earned an MBA when II was 27 and passed the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30, I took a $23,699/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO when I was 31. The Democrats who ran GAO finally promoted me to GS-13 when I was 38 after I had earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31 and passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt and became a licensed CPA when I was 32. With step increases, my GS-13 salary increased to $154,684/year in today’s dollars when I was 49. After I transferred, I earned professional certifications when I was 32 (internal auditing), 41 (fraud examination), 45 (government financial management), 47 (financial services auditing), and 48 (forensic accounting) and a master’s degree (financial markets and trading) when I was 48. My superiors forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997. My critics/opponents have always argued that because I had the aforesaid degrees, professional certifications, and professional license, I should have been promoted to GS-13 much faster than I was and then to GS-14, GS-15, and Senior Executive Service (SES), currently $197,200/year, before I was 40. They blame me for that. They ignore/dismiss/belittle the fact a) that my Democrat IRS superiors got rid of the IRS manager who had promoted me when I was 23, 23, and 25 and b) that my Democrat GAO superiors got rid of the GAO manager who had arranged my transfer from IRS to GAO and was finally able to assign me to audits of IRS and promote me. According to my critics/opponents, I am 100% responsible for my not getting promoted to GS-13 sooner, for my never being promoted beyond GS-13, and for my being forced to retire when I was 49. I agree with them, but absolutely not for the reasons that they hint/imply/argue/shout. They know full-well that Democrats believe that the federal government exists to hire, retain, and promote Democrats who are minority, female, younger, and/or veteran and that I am none of the aforesaid. They know full well that federal employees who are Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran have no Civil Service protections. They know full-well that I would have made SES before I was 40 if I had been a Democrat, minority, female, and/or veteran, b) if I had not complained about their political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, and c) if I had not officially became an active member in a class action lawsuit that charged my GAO superiors with the aforesaid when I was 40. – Dave Diersen

I should write about my many Democrat Post Office, IRS, and GAO superiors who were veterans and the many big adverse actions that they took against me. They used my avoiding the draft with deferments against me viciously. They blamed Republicans for America losing the Vietnam War. I have always asked myself if I had tried to enlist would I have been accepted. I was 1-A for the draft even though I could not run because I had an inherited bone disease, my eyesight could not be corrected to 20/20, and I had partial red/green color blindness. My critics/opponents have always used my aforesaid health problems against me. They have always stressed that if I had been accepted, I would not have been sent into combat and that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am a disgusting unmitigated hypocritical coward. According to my many Democrat superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates in the federal government who were veterans, if I had not avoided the draft, I would not have been able to a) buy new cars when I was 19, 20, 23, 25, 29, etc., b) earn a bachelor’s degree in management when I was 21, c) buy real estate when I was 24, 25, 27, 29, 35, etc. d) earn an MBA when I was 27, e) get married when I was 29, f) pass the CPA examination on my first attempt when I was 30, g) earn a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31, h) pass the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt when I was 32, or i) become a licensed CPA when I was 32.

WASHINGTON POST
— Disparate impact.
DD: Those who passed tests and examinations with me were overwhelming White males. Democrats blame their problems on disparate impact. Hiring, retention, and promotion requirements have a disparate impact against Democrats who are minority, female, younger, and/or veteran. The Democrats who ran the Post Office in 1966, IRS in 1971, and GAO in 1980 hired me because they could not find a qualified Democrat who was minority, female, younger, or veteran who would take the job. All of my coworkers who my Democrat superiors in the federal government promoted over me were Democrats who a) were minority, female, younger than me, and/or veteran and b) had less education than I had, had less work experience than I had, had no professional certification or fewer than I had, and/or had no professional license like the one I had. My Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997 and gave my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate. He had less education than I had. He had less work experience than I had. He had one professional certification while I had six. He had no professional license like the one I had. Overwhelmingly, those who passed the tests and examinations to earn the aforesaid degrees, certifications and license with me were White males.

In my defense, during that time, I earned a bachelor’s degree in business, I earned an MBA, I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt, and I almost completed the requirements for a master’s degree in accounting. In today’s dollars, my IRS salary was $56,409/year when I was 22 in 1971, $68,999/year when I was 23, $83,482/year when I was 24, $100,059/year when I was 25, and $113,402/year when I was 31. In today’s dollars, my GAO salary was $89,703/year when I was 31, $118,984/year when I was 38, and $154,682/year when I was 49. I earned a master’s degree in accounting when I was 31. (FROM THE ARTICLE: The average federal employee salary is $112,456/year and has increased dramatically over the last decade and is more than 50% higher than the average salary reported in 2017. While annual pay raises have contributed to this growth, they are only part of the story. . .One reason average federal salaries are relatively high is that federal employees are older and generally more experienced than workers in the overall U.S. labor force. This distinction is important. According to OPM’s latest workforce data, the median age of federal civilian employees is 47 years old. By comparison, the median age of the overall U.S. labor force is about 42 years old. This means the federal workforce is generally older and more experienced than the workforce as a whole. Workers typically earn more as they gain experience, move into supervisory positions, and acquire specialized skills. An organization with a larger share of mid-career and senior employees will have a higher average salary than one that relies heavily on entry-level workers.)

Ever-increasingly, if you are the following, the longer that your ancestors have been in America, the more that Democrat leaders demonize, denigrate, and condemn you: conservative, Republican, White, male, older, non-poor, non-veteran, Protestant, and/or German American. (FROM THE ARTICLE: Most cover photos work because they immediately convey the story’s theme. This one, unfortunately, needs explanation. It shows drunken Irish and German immigrants stealing a ballot box. John H. Goater created the political cartoon from the 1850s. It portrays caricatures representing Irish and German voters engaging in what appears to be election theft, with chaos unfolding in the background at the “Election Day Polls” building. The cartoonist uses stereotypical imagery to convey fear of immigrant voters exerting undue political influence. The portrayal of the Irish and German voters in a negative light, with exaggerated features and behaviors, perpetuates harmful stereotypes associated with these immigrant communities. By depicting them as thieves, the cartoon suggests that these groups are unlawfully manipulating the electoral process to their advantage. The people the elections were being stolen from were white people. Early Irish and German immigrants weren’t initially considered white. They say ex-smokers are the hardest on those who still smoke. Former non-white people who have become white, now lead the way in protecting whiteness, making sure people of color never get the power, especially in elections, to take what is theirs. . .Among the people not initially regarded as white in America were Germans, Greeks, white Hispanics, Spaniards, Jews, Slavs, Italians, Afghans, Iranians, and Irish. The Immigration Act of 1790 only offered naturalization to “any alien, being a free white person.” In 1923, the Supreme Court ruled that people of Indian descent were not white and couldn’t become citizens. . .Germans  Not considered white in the 18th–19th centuries. They were seen as: “swarthy,” “boorish,” “drunk,” “non‑English” politically dangerous (1848 radicals) culturally unassimilable. They faced: riots against German neighborhoods, bans on German language schools, anti‑German hysteria during WWI (lynchings, book burnings, forced name changes. . .Housing Segregation  Ethnic ghettos were common: . .German Towns)

Beyond that, my Democrat GAO superiors a) forced me to retire when I was 49 in 1997, b) always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance, c) delayed my promotions and d) forced me to take a $23,699/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors a) disallowed my education deductions in 1978 and b) disallowed my travel vouchers in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors forced me to resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Maj. Jason Watson calls for President Trump’s impeachment, risking his military career. He attended a press conference led by the Removal Coalition outside the Capitol. Watson accused Trump of violating the Constitution and committing impeachable offenses.
He cited violations of the War Powers Act regarding military strikes against Iran and Venezuela. Watson claimed these actions resulted in deaths and injuries to service members. U.S. Air Force Maj. Jason Watson was arrested Wednesday while demonstrating at the Capitol for the impeachment of President Trump. Capitol police said they arrested Maj. Watson for demonstrating on the Capitol steps, which is against the law unless the demonstrator is with a member of Congress. Maj. Watson was initially accompanied by Rep. Al Green, Texas Democrat, after an impeachment press conference led by the Removal Coalition, a grassroots organization. When the congressman left the area, police officers told Maj. Watson to stop his demonstration or he would be arrested. “The man refused our lawful orders and was then arrested for 22-1307 Crowding, Obstructing, and Incommoding,” a Capitol Police spokesperson said. “It is important to note that there are plenty of other spots on Capitol Grounds where demonstrating is allowed.” Maj. Watson is risking his active-duty military career to publicly call for Mr. Trump’s impeachment.)

— Priority Open Recommendations: Internal Revenue Service. DD: The Democrats who ran GAO 1980-1997 wasted my knowledge of IRS. They kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 (1986-1988) of the almost 18 years that I worked for them. I had worked for IRS 1971-1980, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 Levels, currently $100,059-$113,402/year. They would not have done that if I had been a Democrat, minority, female, or veteran.
https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-26-108992
(FROM THE REPORT: In September 2025, GAO identified 26 priority recommendations for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Since then, IRS has implemented one of those recommendations. In June 2026, GAO identified an additional two priority recommendations, bringing the total to 27. GAO is highlighting the following three areas that warrant timely and focused attention: Managing agency transformation, Addressing the tax gap, and Improving the taxpayer experience. Addressing GAO’s recommendations in these areas can help inform IRS’s transformation efforts, strengthen its tax enforcement and revenue collection while reducing taxpayer burden, and inform its resource decisions to best improve the taxpayer experience. Taking action to implement all of GAO’s open priority recommendations could significantly improve operations across IRS.)
