In 1981, Charles Bowsher took over GAO and ran it for the next 15 years. Under Bowsher, GAO shrank dramatically and is now just a shell of what it once was. Republican losses in Illinois, DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton increased dramatically since I a) became a Republican Precinct Committeeman in 1999, b) served as the Milton Township Republican Organization webmaster 2000-2004 and 2008-2010, c) served as an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering member 2003-2007, d) served as a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member 2003-2011, e) served as the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman 2005-2012, and f) raised funds from DuPage Republicans 2005-2019 so that DuPage Republicans could help sponsor Wheaton’s Independence Day parades and fireworks. Ever-increasingly those who move into my precinct are Democrats. My wife and I have fertility problems serious enough to stop us from having children.)
