I am of Mexican-American descent and have lived quite happily in Naperville for over 31 years. I participate in local activities, volunteer in places of need and worship without conflict. I am sure ethnic comments may have been uttered out of my earshot or ignorant individuals made comments to my children, unaware of their ancestry, but overall I believe Naperville has presented itself as a wholesome, kind and generous town. It is unfortunate when a person feels bullied and picked on, but we have to turn the other cheek and not retaliate in kind, as you, Ms. Stava-Murray, seem to do.
