DUPAGE COUNTY GOP
— DuPage County Republicans Bring More Than 100 Voters Together for Countywide Candidate Forum
https://dupagegop.com/
(FROM THE PRESS RELEASE: More than 100 DuPage County voters, Republican leaders, candidates, and supporters gathered Thursday evening at Harry Caray’s in Lombard for an energetic and informative countywide candidate event focused on the upcoming November 3 General Election. The evening brought together Republican candidates from across DuPage County and the region, giving attendees a chance to hear directly from those seeking elected office and learn more about the races on the November ballot. Among the candidates and elected Republican leaders attending were Don Tracy, candidate for U.S. Senate; Jeff Walter, candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 11th Congressional District; candidates for State Representative in the 49th, 56th and 85th Districts; a candidate for State Senate in the 23rd District; and candidates for DuPage County Board Districts 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. Tracy and Walter are listed among the Republican candidates for the 2026 General Election. The countywide portion of the program featured Gary Grasso, candidate for DuPage County Board Chairman; Patricia Kladis-Schiappa, candidate for DuPage County Clerk; Sean Noonan, candidate for DuPage County Sheriff; Carl Schultz, candidate for Forest Preserve President; and Amber Quirk, candidate for Regional Board of Education Superintendent. Candidates addressed issues important to DuPage County residents before taking questions from the audience during a lively Q&A.  Bob Schillerstrom, former 12-year DuPage County Board Chairman and former candidate for Governor of Illinois, moderated the forum. The event also brought together a broad cross-section of DuPage Republican leadership, including Illinois Republican Party Chairman Bob Grogan; DuPage County GOP Vice-Chair and Lisle Township Republican Organization Chairwoman Becky Rudolph; DuPage County GOP Secretary Jeff Castle, an ILSCC-06 member and Milton Township Republican Organization Chairman; Tony Schiappa, Downers Grove Township Republican Organization Chairman and Burr Ridge Village Trustee; Dave Rogers, Bloomingdale Township Republican Organization Chairman and Bloomingdale Township Trustee; Jerry Evans, Winfield Township Republican Organization Chairman; Dan Kordik, York Township Republican Organization Chairman; and JP Augustynowicz, Warrenville Alderman. Local candidates attending included: State Rep 49th John Paul Augustynowicz; 56th Rhys Read; & 84th Brian Scopa, State Senate 23 Linda Polacek, CB1  Paula Pezza; CB2  Theresa McClear & Rusty Stevens; CB 4 Isobel Michaud, C5  Daniel Lomeli & CB6  Kathy Zander. The evening provided voters with an opportunity to meet candidates, ask questions, learn more about the November election and connect with Republican organizations from throughout DuPage County. As the November 3 General Election approaches, attendees were encouraged to remain engaged, support their local candidates and campaigns, take advantage of early voting opportunities, and make a plan to vote. “Events like this are important to do because voters deserve the opportunity to meet our candidates, hear directly from them, and get a chance to ask them questions,” said Larisa Calvanese, Downers Grove TRO Secretary. “Bringing candidates, township leaders and voters together in one room strengthens the local political organizations and hopefully  keeps our communities engaged in the election process.” The DuPage County Republican organizations will continue working with candidates, volunteers and voters throughout the remainder of the 2026 election season.)

— What do you say to Republican candidates who lose Republican primary elections and then fail/refuse to help elect those Republican candidates who win those elections? I have been a Republican Precinct Committeeman (RPC) since 1999. — Socialism’s fatal flaw: Misunderstanding human nature.  DD: Socialism demotivates. Under socialism, to advance, all you need to do is to be a socialist. Under Democrats, to advance, all you need to do is to be a Democrat. That is a tremendous demotivator. Working for socialists is like working for Democrats. I worked for Democrats who ran the federal government for almost 30 years. Virtually all of my superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates were Democrats. None of them came close to doing what I did to advance. I worked my way through college. I earned a job-related bachelor’s degree. Virtually none of my Democrat Post Office coworkers did that. I earned three job-related master’s degrees. I earned six job-related professional certifications. I earned a job-related professional license. None of my Democrat IRS and GAO coworkers did that. Notwithstanding the aforesaid that I did to advance, all my Democrat coworkers who my Democrat superiors promoted over me a) had less education than I had, b) had less work experience than I had, c) had no professional certification or fewer than I had, and/or d) had no professional license like the one I had. They got promoted because they were Democrats.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: How the DSA serves as a religion substitute for downwardly mobile elites. In August, when the New York Post profiled Grace Ryan—a 25-year-old NYU graduate, chocolate heiress, and socialist activist known online as “Lulu Lenin”—it supplied her critics with an irresistible caricature. Ryan had displayed the expensive clothes and vacations of a young woman born to wealth even as she was championing a movement devoted to dismantling class privilege. Confronted with the contradiction, she offered a defense more suited to an Edwardian drawing room than a Democratic Socialists of America meeting: “Y’all never heard of noblesse oblige?” Ludicrous and unknowing as Ryan’s remark was, it was revelatory nonetheless about something very real. The DSA attracts people who have benefited from capitalism but feel cheated by it. It provides them with a moral vocabulary that gives them room to reinterpret personal disappointment as systemic injustice. And, most important, it gives them somewhere to go on a lonely Tuesday night, just as, for thousands of years, religion provided a social basis for Mormons on a Monday, Muslims on a Friday, Jews on a Saturday, and Christians on a Sunday.)
