June 19 Morning Edition

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— OUTSTANDINGLY, 19 REPUBLICANS HELP SPONSOR WHEATON’S INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE AND FIREWORKS! Illinois Republican Party leader and Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar has pledged $500, Judge Jeff MacKay has pledged $250, and DuPage County Forest Preserve Commissioner Tim Whelan has pledged $150. Bob Berlin, Dan Cronin, Tim Elliott, Amy Grant, Gwen Henry, Paul Hinds, Marty Keller, Deanne Mazzochi, Dave Molitor, John Monino, Chris Nybo, Peter Roskam, Darlene Ruscitti, Phil Suess, Kevin Wiley, and Karen Wilson have each pledged $100.

As a $2,500 Star sponsor, DuPage County Republicans will get credit for sponsoring the Tunes of Glory bagpipers and the Wheaton North and South High School bands in the parade. DuPage Republicans will again have a booth at the fireworks the evening before the parade. I will again hand deliver a flyer to all the residences and businesses on the parade route that lists the Republican entries in the parade, the Republican sponsors, and the amount that they contributed. The flyers will be printed courtesy of Alpha Graphics and I plan on delivering them on Thursday, June 21.

So far, Republican entries in the parade are Peter Roskam, Peter Breen/Amy Grant, Paul Hinds, James Mendrick, Grant Eckhoff/Tim Elloitt/Chris Zaruba, Jeff McKay, Karen Wilson, and Milton Township Republican Central Committee. Please help me encourage Republican candidates on November 6 ballots in Wheaton to have an entry in Wheaton’s Independence Day parade. Those candidates include Bruce Rauner and Evelyn Sanguinetti, Erika Harold, Jason Helland, Darlene Senger, Jim Dodge, Mike Connelly, Chris Nybo, Darlene Ruscitti, Dan Cronin, Gwen Henry, Kevin Wiley, Jim Zay, Al Murphy, and Joseph Cantore. The deadline for parade entries has been extended to June 20 and the cost is $180. Featured are video testimonials from Beth Montfort of Saline County, a city commissioner in Harrisburg; Scott Preston of Normal, a town council member; and Wendy Erhart of Madison County, a businesswoman in Maryville. “He understood Southern Illinois values were a lot different,” Montfort says in her testimonial.)

POLITICO ILLINOIS
— DETHRONING PRITZKER – Natasha Korecki (DIERSEN: Have you appealed your property taxes? I did during the 1980s and 1990s. I won a reduction from the Property Tax Appeal Board. I should write a book about it and about how I have been punished for it ever since.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Finally! We have a campaign ad out of Team Rauner that focuses on something other than imprisoned ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Instead, it zooms in on Pritzker’s Cook County property tax appeal that involved pulling toilets from a mansion abutting his own Chicago mansion. This was from a 2017 Tim Novak special that reported Pritzker disconnected toilets from an Astor street property abutting his Chicago home to classify it as “vacant and uninhabitable.” Pritzker ended up with a $230,000 property tax break. Watch “Porcelain Prince” Pritzker quickly retaliated in his own new TV ad taking a shot at Rauner’s wealth, his nine homes and past property tax appeals. But what’s likely to be even more controversial is the ad’s assertion that Rauner wanted to raise local property taxes. “Bruce Rauner owns nine homes and he’s appealed his property taxes 22 times. But now he’s attacking somebody else for the same thing? Now that’s bad. But you know what’s worse? Bruce Rauner wants to raise your property taxes. That’s right, Rauner’s budget cost taxpayers more than $1 billion.”)

ILLINOIS FAMILY ACTION

https://illinoisfamilyaction.org/2018/06/gubernatorial-election-what-to-do-what-to-do-_-docx/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Maybe Illinois conservatives, beaten down by Illinois politics and bad governance, badgered by fellow Republicans, and panicking because they focus too much on the short-term nightmarish picture they see before their eyes, will at the last moment fold and vote for Bruce Rauner. That would be a huge mistake. The long-term health of the party, the state, and the nation depends not solely or even centrally on tax rates for businesses but on issues related to respect for human life, marriage, and sexuality. The fact that so many Republicans don’t see that bodes ill for Illinois and America. Having Pinocchio Rauner at the helm of the Republican Party will exacerbate the ignorance on these issues, and the GOP will continue to rot from within. We don’t need any more evidence of Rauner’s unfitness for office, but here goes. On Father’s Day, Rauner chose to demonstrate his contempt—again—for conservative voters by marching in the shameful homosexual “pride” parade in Aurora, Illinois. On the day that commemorates fathers, he marched in a parade that celebrates the intrinsically sterile unions of people who are acquiring children like commodities and intentionally depriving children of fathers (and mothers).)
