WGN RADIO
— What is the state of conservative politics and policy in Illinois? – PETER ZIMMERMAN (DIERSEN: Who is a conservative? In Illinois, if you do not defend and advance the traditional family, right to life, immigration, Second Amendment, equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving), and the other planks in the Republican Party platform and in the Illinois Republican Party platform, you are not a conservative. If you promote dependency on government, dependency on charity, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, diminution of Second Amendment rights, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, booze, gambling, pot, or other vices, or other terrible things, you are not a conservative. Who are the conservatives in your precinct, in your municipality, in your township/ward, in your county, and in Illinois? Who speaks for them? WGN Radio has chosen Dan Proft to speak for all conservatives in Illinois. What is Proft’s opinion of you? More importantly, what do people think Proft’s opinion of you is? People can conclude that a) if those who are close to  have a high opinion of you, then Proft has a high opinion of you and b) if those who are close to Proft have a low opinion of you, then Proft has a low opinion of you.)
http://wgnradio.com/2018/02/28/what-is-the-state-of-conservative-politics-and-policy-in-illinois/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Political analyst, radio host and former candidate for Illinois governor Dan Proft joins Justin discuss his life in conservative politics. Dan talks about the new Simon Institute poll saying Governor Rauner is leading his opponent Representative Jeanne Ives, why so many Republicans are turning against Governor Rauner, how the Illinois Republican Party has changed through the years and what defines a conservative in 2018.)

GAO hired me in 1980 because it could NOT find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. IRS hired me in 1971 because it could NOT find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. The Post Office hired me in 1966 because it could NOT find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job.)

CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— Cullerton goes all in for Senator Silverstein – Editorial (DIERSEN: Who goes all out for you when adverse actions are taken against you? Of course, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes glorify and praise those activists, those candidates, those elected officials, those party leaders, those major donors, those political consultants, those etc. in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois who did not come to my defense when my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes a) gerrymandered my precinct in 2015, b) ended my TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairmanship in 2012, c) ended my Wheaton Chamber of Commerce (WCC) Government Affairs Committee membership in 2011, d) ended my Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) webmaster service in 2010 and 2004, e) ended my Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) Steering Committee membership in 2007, f) ended my American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) Midwest Chapter (MC) board membership in 2004, g) ended my GAO employment in 1997, h) etc. They especially stress those TAPROOT, WCC, MTRCC, ICRC, and AAPC MC officers and members who did not come to my defense.)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-silverstein-cullerton-sexual-harassment-20180228-story.html
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: Silverstein faces three Democratic challengers in the March 20 primary: Ram Villivalam, a former union legislative liaison; David Zulkey, an attorney; and Caroline McAteer-Fournier, who works for DePaul University’s career center. This would be an easy race for Cullerton to sit out. Let Senator Unbecoming make his own case to voters. Several top Democrats have called for Silverstein to step down. But Cullerton is doubling down, writing generous checks of at least $115,400 from his campaign fund to support Silverstein, along with $6,430 in campaign ads, according to the latest campaign disclosure forms. It sure raises a few questions.)

While I attended Crete-Monee High School 1962-1966, I took college preparatory courses notwithstanding the fact that many, if not most, if not virtually everyone at the time viewed me as NOT being “college material.” Neither of my parents had attended college. — When ‘Married, Filing Separately’ Lowers Your Tax Bill – Laura Saunders (DIERSEN: Overwhelmingly, my critics/opponents are men who have benefited from the “marriage bonus,” that is, their wife’s have had little or no income.)
https://www.wsj.com/articles/when-married-filing-separately-lowers-your-tax-bill-1519381801
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Here’s an example: When Congress overhauled the tax code last year, lawmakers capped deductions for state and local taxes, or SALT, at $10,000 per return for 2018 and after. Thus, married couples get half the SALT write-off per person that singles do. But spouses can’t get two $10,000 deductions by filing separately. If they do, the law allows only $5,000 of SALT deductions to each spouse. To qualify for two $10,000 write-offs, the couple would have to divorce. This result might seem unfair, but such outcomes are common for married couples filing separately. Most can’t claim the American opportunity education credit or certain other breaks, and the ability to deduct a traditional IRA contribution or to make a Roth IRA contribution often phases out at $10,000 of income. For a list of limits, see IRS Publication 501. Why did Congress enact rules that push couples to file jointly? According to tax policy specialist Dennis Ventry of the University of California, Davis, the tax code for decades favored families in which one spouse earned most of the income, giving them a “marriage bonus.” That was unfavorable to single filers, and subsequent efforts to help them created burdens for two-earner married couples. This tilt has persisted in many provisions, Mr. Ventry says.)
