I should write a book about those in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois who viciously demonize, who viciously denigrate, and who viciously condemn MSLs as being “too conservative” and even worse things.)

Her branch of the Lutheran Church — with more than 9,200 congregations and about 3.6 million members in the U.S. and Caribbean — views discrimination, including excluding people because of gender identity, as “contrary to how we understand God’s expansive love, that diversity is actually a gift.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: A long-shot candidate for the GOP nomination for governor over Rauner, WILLIAM KELLY of Chicago, last week named a running mate — RAY TRANCHANT, who he said is a Danville-area resident. Tranchant’s daughter TESSA was 16 when she was killed in an auto accident in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The drunk driver convicted and put in prison after the accident was in the country illegally. Tranchant appeared with now-President DONALD TRUMP to discuss his situation during the 2016 campaign.)

While I worked for the federal government for almost 30 years, because of COLAs, step increases, and/or promotions, my salary increased every year except 1980 when I took an $18,847 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO. In my defense, I earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32.)

CHAMPAIGN/URBANA NEWS GAZETTE
— Trump supporter joins run against Rauner – Tom Kacich  (DIERSEN: Ever-increasingly, Rauner and his supporters paint themselves as being anti-Trump, that is, as being anti-Republican, especially concerning immigration. What do you say to anti-Trumps who have advised Rauner, or who will advise Rauner, to destroy Kelly, to destroy Tranchant, and to destroy any individual, any organization, and any company that might support Kelly/Tranchant?  Have the anti-Trumps advised, or will they advise, Rauner to destroy Republican Precinct Committeemen like me who have a policy of circulating nominating petitions for ALL Republican candidates?  I should write a book about RINO, Democrat plant, Libertarian plant, and Green plant candidates, their operatives, and their dupes who focus on destroying me because circulated petitions for their Republican opponents.)
http://www.news-gazette.com/news/local/2017-09-10/tom-kacich-trump-supporter-joins-run-against-rauner.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: And Ray Tranchant of Catlin is the lieutenant governor candidate on what may be an even longer shot: Chicagoan William Kelly’s intraparty challenge to Gov. Bruce Rauner. Tranchant is a Navy veteran and a supporter of President Trump who said he has never run for office before. The two big reasons he wants to serve with Kelly, he said, are fiscal responsibility and illegal immigration. Tranchant, whose 16-year-old daughter Tessa was killed by an illegal immigrant from Mexico in an auto accident 10 years ago in Virginia Beach, Va., said he is particularly upset by Rauner’s decision last month to sign the Illinois TRUST Act, which restricts local law enforcement from collaborating with federal immigration agents to detain anyone unless the federal officials have a warrant. Tranchant called the legislation “a sanctuary bill” that would protect hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in the Chicago area who now, he predicted, will move downstate. “We believe that they’re going to get out of there (Chicago), mainly come here, look for jobs and get aid and live in a better and safer environment,” said Tranchant, who said he “is in his early 60s” and had retained his Illinois residency even while in the military. “That’s going to cost our schools and services a lot of money. We don’t think it’s good.” Kelly, a conservative radio host in the Chicago area, called Rauner “the new Judas of the Republican Party” for signing the immigration legislation. “Today, unlike Bruce Rauner, we stand proudly with President Trump and the federal government,” Kelly said last week. “I will recall Rauner by defeating him in the 2018 GOP primary and repeal Illinois’ sanctuary state status by executive order. As governor, my first act will be to recognize the federal government’s exclusive power to make and enforce immigration law.” Tranchant said he also was upset with Rauner for allowing the state to operate without a budget for more than two years. “That hurts the state of Illinois as well,” said Tranchant. “Many of my friends who are Democrats voted for him because they wanted a change and they didn’t want the same old incestuous relationship that (former Gov.) Pat Quinn had with (House Speaker Michael) Madigan. We figured this guy was just like Trump, would make a difference, and so far, all he’s done is isolated himself and refused to do things.” In order to get on the ballot, Kelly, Tranchant and their allies will have to collect 5,000 to 10,000 signatures between now and early December. “We’ll get the 5,000 signatures,” Tranchant deadpanned. “I’ve got that many friends on Facebook.”)

— Neither borrower nor lender be? – Editorial  (DIERSEN: What have you borrowed money for?  I borrowed money to buy a new 1972 Corvette in 1971, a new town home in University Park in 1972, a studio condo in the Outer Drive East building in 1974, and a one bedroom condo in that building in 1976. DETROIT FREE PRESS
— Not on the agenda at Michigan Republican Party Mackinac conference: President Donald Trump – Paul Egan  (DIERSEN: Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser says “As a party, we support the president — we support his policies.” But what if Trump goes against the Republican Party platform?  Republicans should always support the platform. If you do not like certain planks in the platform, you should try to get them changed. Of course, those who reject the traditional family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving), and other planks in the Republican Party platform work against me. Of course, those who promote dependency on government and charity, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, abolition of the First and Second Amendments, and even worse things work against me.  They say that “the platform is the problem.”)
http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2017/09/09/michigan-republican-party-mackinac-conference-president-donald-trump/645799001/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: President Donald Trump has been using Twitter to attack Republican legislative leaders over their failure to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Last week, Trump blindsided members of his own party when he cut a controversial deal with the Democrats to raise the debt ceiling and fund hurricane relief. Distractions resulting from an ongoing and wide-ranging investigation by special counsel and former FBI director Robert Mueller threaten to further derail the Republican agenda, including the promise of corporate and personal income tax cuts. Controversies surrounding the Republican president are captivating the country — and the world — and have some Republicans worried about how they will affect party fortunes in congressional midterms and other elections in 2018. But don’t look for those topics to be on the agenda when about 2,000 Republicans from Michigan and across the nation gather on Mackinac Island Sept. 22-24 for the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference — a major policy confab held every two years. Party leaders say the conference will be all about unity, and the focus will be on what’s happening in Michigan — not Washington, D.C. “As a party, we support the president — we support his policies,” Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser said in an interview. “I don’t think there’s going to be any kind of controversy.” Tax reform, repeal and replace of Obamacare, immigration and infrastructure “are important and worthy of conversations,” said state party spokeswoman Sarah Anderson. But “unfortunately, we have a limited time for the conference, so there wasn’t a space for panels on those issues.” In addition to Gov. Rick Snyder, other state Republican leaders and members of Congress, speakers will include Trump loyalists such as Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens and U.S. Education Secretary and west Michigan businesswoman Betsy DeVos. Panel sessions will feature topics such as the influence of women in the party, successful Michigan business leaders, the news media, and “Michigan leading the nation” in terms of domestic policies and job creation. Though he comes from a neighboring state and is maintaining a high profile after his unsuccessful bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, don’t look for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a frequent Trump critic, to be taking a ferry across the Straits of Mackinac. The emphasis on unity is reflected in the conference theme, “Together We Rise.” The agenda, which is still being finalized, also includes former Michigan Gov. John Engler and former Utah congressman Jason Chaffetz, who chaired the House oversight committee and is now a Fox News contributor. Organizers had hoped U.S. Vice President Mike Pence would be among the speakers, but he is unable to attend due to security complications, Weiser said.)
