To make DuPage Republicans the lead sponsor for the parades, I raised $2,500 or more each year from Republican candidates, elected officials, and party leaders. The aforesaid got lots of positive publicity for the sponsorships. Republicans got specific credit for sponsoring the Wheaton high school marching bands, bagpipers, and other entries. Each year, I hand-delivered 500 flyers to the homes and the businesses on the parade route that promoted the parade and listed the Republican entries and sponsorships. In 2007, I raised $2,000 on short notice for an elephant to walk behind Roskam in the parade.

My Democrat IRS superiors were furious that I got promoted that young because I was not a Democrat, minority, female, or veteran. They got rid of the IRS manager who promoted me. They disallowed my travel vouchers. They disallowed my education deductions. They refused to promote me to GS-13.
