CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— To protect immigrant students, a Chicago-area college told Flock to remove its cameras. The company refused. Elgin Community College resorted to covering the surveillance cameras with trash bags and zip ties. Public records show that federal immigration authorities have accessed Flock data at other Illinois colleges. DD: Democrat leaders ever-increasingly put their illegals ahead of public safety.

— 2026 Chicago Christopher Columbus parade set to step off Monday downtown. Some reject Columbus Day due to the explorer’s ties to the mistreatment of indigenous people. DD: According to some, including my critics/opponents, homesteading was mistreatment of indigenous people. My critics/opponents have always a) stressed that my ancestors on my father’s sided homesteaded 240 acres in southeast Crete Township in 1854 and b) tied all my successes in life to that. To be eligible to homestead, my ancestors worked in brick factory in Chicago 1844-1854.

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— I vehemently disagree with those who say that they are conservative and/or Republican, but who want Bailey to lose to Pritzker by more this time so that I he will not run again in 2030. I have been a Republican Precinct Committeeman (RPC) since 1999. While RPCs can help elect whichever candidates they want in Republican primary elections, in general elections, they must help elect those candidates who win Republican primary elections. I might never know all the reasons why my many efforts to get Bailey/De Mar campaign literature to distribute in my precinct were unsuccessful. – Dave Diersen

AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE
— How to Solve the ICE Manpower Problem. DD: Democrats and RINOs ever-increasingly demonize, denigrate, and condemn ICE officers. I was an IRS Revenue Officer 1971-1980. One of the reasons why I transferred to GAO in 1980 was the unpopularity of IRS employees. Many, most, virtually all, if not all people hint/imply/argue/shout that if you take an unpopular job, you must be deficient. Within IRS, Collection Division employees are looked down on. My Democrat GAO superiors, supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates looked down on executive branch employees. They especially looked down on IRS employees.
https://www.theamericanconservative.com/trump-should-establish-a-civilian-deportation-corps/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The mainstream media over the past few months have participated in a messaging onslaught that, if measured as paid advertising, would likely be as costly as a presidential campaign. The media blitz has one message: to convince people deportations are not doable. . .By mid-November, President Donald Trump should order the establishment of an Immigration Corps and aim to hire 250,000 Americans in three months to facilitate deportation logistics and support law enforcement in a number of well-defined, historically consistent ways. United behind this president, we patriotic Americans can do this together.  Why is this necessary? There was never a version of success that included the linear scaling of traditional law enforcement capacity. Even the enlisting of sheriffs, one of our greatest tools, simply doesn’t get us there in time. We need to go directly to the American people. The very same people whom the Salazars and Thompsons of the world tell us won’t do the hard jobs.  This is America. We are a country that can staff 19,000 volunteer fire departments, that can conduct local disaster relief efforts through a Cajun Navy and rebuild hurricane-ravaged towns with self-organized efforts run out of Walmart parking. We can find Americans willing to drive vans, prepare records, and man weigh-station checkpoints. The assumption that everyone must remain a spectator is a peculiar concession to make before we have even asked for civic action. Deportation at this scale requires an enormous amount of resources and mundane work. It requires planes and pilots, buses and drivers, mechanics, holding facilities, and medical staff. It requires bureaucratic records and competent administration. Somebody has to do all of it. Every immigration officer focused on solving one of those problems is an officer not available for enforcement. . .Immigration officers would remain responsible for the majority of traditional arrests and enforcement decisions. But the Corps would take on civilian support duties, a subset of which would involve contact with potentially dangerous illegal aliens. Even the simple act of driving illegal aliens from a staging area to the airport would entail risk, given the high number of illegal aliens with additional criminal records. Americans will sign up anyway.)

BLAZE
— Republicans cannot serve two masters on immigration. DD: My critics/opponents want cheap labor. Because they had wealthy parents, they never had to compete against noncitizens for jobs like did. All my employers would have hired noncitizens instead of me if they could have. I did yard work 1962-1964, delivered newspapers 1962-1966, washed dishes 1964-1966, cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966, delivered mail 1966-1969, worked on an automotive assemble line in 1970, sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971, pumped more gasoline 1971-1972, collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980, and audited federal agencies 1980-1997. I should write about my critics/opponents. I would focus on those whose parents were the wealthiest.
https://www.theblaze.com/columns/opinion/republicans-cannot-serve-two-masters-on-immigration
(FROM THE ARTICLE: GOP voters want enforcement. Employers want unlimited cheap labor. The party keeps pretending it can satisfy both without choosing which interest comes first. Eleven years after Donald Trump’s rise, the Republican Party still has not broken with the business interests that depend on cheap, abundant migrant labor. A handful of conservatives want to shut off the employment spigot and reduce both illegal and legal immigration. But too much of the party remains willing to protect longtime illegal workers in agriculture, expand guest-worker programs, or legalize workers already here when employers insist they cannot operate without them. That’s the real fault line. Almost every Republican says border chaos is bad. The harder test comes when immigration enforcement raises labor costs for industries dependent upon a large foreign workforce. When a party’s voters and its governing class want fundamentally different things on a defining issue, eventually the contradiction must break somewhere. For years, Republicans have talked about focusing deportations on criminal aliens while treating workers in agriculture, hospitality, and other favored industries differently. That approach leaves the cheap labor pipeline largely intact. If employers can continue hiring illegal labor with little consequence, the incentive to come and remain does not disappear. Republicans simply won’t protect our nation’s sovereignty. Instead, they build up a false dichotomy that points to one solution: amnesty. Senator Jim Justice (R-W.Va.) made the tension explicit last month. He told Politico that ICE can get “carried away” and questioned “dragging people away that have lived on your street corner for 15 years.” He later issued a statement saying he supports Trump’s immigration strategy “full stop,” while emphasizing the removal of dangerous criminals.

PJ MEDIA
— Trump’s $84 Billion Fine Crackdown May Have Moved Faster Than the Law. DD: So far, constructively, in today’s dollars, by their forcing me to retire when I was 49 in 1997, my Democrat GAO superiors have fined me $2,495,218 or $86,042/year or $7,170/month or $239/day. That is what my salary would have been minus my Civil Service Retirement System pension.
https://pjmedia.com/david-manney/2026/10/06/trumps-84-billion-fine-crackdown-may-have-moved-faster-than-the-law-n4958033
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Two words buried inside federal immigration law have now jammed one of President Donald Trump’s biggest enforcement tools: “willfully” and “voluntarily.” A Massachusetts federal judge stayed the Trump administration’s streamlined immigration-fine system after concluding the government likely moved too fast to impose penalties without making the individualized findings Congress requires. The scale explains why this is more than another courtroom skirmish. The DHS said in July that it had issued more than 103,000 civil fines totaling about $84 billion, including penalties of $998 per day for illegal aliens who remain after final removal orders. Some assessments reached about $1.8 million after the government applied daily penalties retroactively for years. . .Congress created the underlying penalty authority in 1996. One statute permits fines when someone granted voluntary departure voluntarily fails to leave, while another allows daily penalties when someone under a final removal order willfully fails or refuses to leave, obtain needed travel documents, or present for removal.)
