My critics/opponents have always hinted/implied/argued/shouted that I should pay reparations, that is, that I should pay the price of Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion. They stress that I am White, male, old (born in 1948), Republican, conservative, Protestant (baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran), non-poor, 100% German national origin, draft avoider, retired, and my ancestors have been in America since 1844.).

EUREKA TIMES STANDARD
— On ‘Seeking: digital natives’ – ANGELA COPELAND (DIERSEN: How long have you had your email address? I have had diersen@aol.com for more than 24 years, since January of 1995 when I was 46 years old. How long have you owned a computer system? I have owned a computer system since 1982 when I was 34 years old. While I worked for GAO during the 1990s, before GAO provided its staff with computer systems, I bought several computer systems and used them in my office. I published Milton Township Republican Central Committee’s (MTRCC) first website in 2000 and served as MTRCC’s webmaster 2000-2004 and 2008-2010. I published Milton Township’s first website in 2001 and served as its webmaster 2001-2003. I served as Illinois Center Right Coalition’s webmaster 2004-2006. I have been sending out GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails since 2000 and publishing copies of them at www.gopillinois.com since 2005. I have been on Facebook since January of 2009.)
https://www.times-standard.com/2019/05/26/career-corner-seeking-digital-natives/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: This term makes sense at first. But, the definition of a digital native, according to Dictionary.com, is “a person born or brought up during the age of digital technology and therefore familiar with computers and the internet from an early age.” Those who are turning forty this year probably started to use the internet around 1995, when they were sophomores in high school — if they were lucky. That was in the time of the dial-up modem and America Online. Their parents were ahead of the game to have a home computer then. In all likelihood, they really began to use computers when they went to college. It should be noted that I’m omitting early Mac computers and things like Atari for the purposes of this column. I’m talking about the real-deal internet. Digital natives had the internet in elementary school or middle school. Wikipedia says digital natives “are often used to describe the digital gap in terms of the ability of technological use among people born from 1980 onward and those born before.” By this definition, a digital native would be 38 years old or younger today. Let that soak in. A job description that specifically requests that someone is 38 years old or less. Why does this happen? I don’t have the answer for you. I’d like to know this myself. I thought that the idea of a job posting was to hire someone with a certain skillset rather than a certain age. I also heard this rumor that discriminating on the basis of age when hiring is not allowed. In fact, I think there may be something called the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.)
