CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— DIERSEN HEADLINE: Ever-increasingly, anti-Trumps call for their supporters to boycott all pro-Trump individuals, all pro-Trump organizations, all pro-Trump companies, all pro-Trump governments, and all pro-Trump countries.  What if Trump called for his supporters to boycott all anti-Trump individuals, all anti-Trump organizations, all anti-Trump companies, all anti-Trump governments, and all anti-Trump countries?

— The bumpy road to adulthood for 20-somethings and 30-somethings – Robert Samuelson  (DIERSEN: When were you 18-34?  For me it was 1966-1982.  Of course, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes hint/imply/argue/shout that if I was 34 today, I never would have been able to do the following before I was 34: a) become a licensed CPA, b) pass the Certified Internal Auditor Examination on my first attempt, c) pass the CPA examination on my first attempt, d) earn a master’s degree in accounting from DePaul, an MBA from Loyola, or a bachelor’s degree in management from NIU, e) get married, f) buy real estate, g) buy new cars, h) have jobs that paid me enough to do the aforesaid, i) etc.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Growing up isn’t what it used to be. There’s a yawning gap between the end of adolescence and the beginning of adulthood: a period when millions of 20-somethings and 30-somethings have many adult freedoms without all the responsibilities. Social scientists have tried — so far in vain — to name this new life-stage, but no one should question its significance. If you have doubts, a new U.S. Census Bureau study should resolve them. It compares the experiences of Americans 18 to 34 now with the same age group in the 1970s. There has been a sea change. “In prior generations, young adults were expected to have finished school, found a job, and set up their own household during their 20s — most often with their spouse and with a child soon to follow,” says the report. No more. . .The transition has been hard on some men. In 1975, only about a quarter of men 25 to 34 had incomes less than $30,000 a year. By 2016, that had risen to 41 percent. (Incomes were adjusted for inflation.) Meanwhile, millions of young women have entered the labor force, and though their median wage remains below men’s, it has increased faster than men’s.)

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— DIERSEN HEADLINE: Anti-Trumps say “The men of Fox News need to take a stand.”  During the 1980s and 1990s, extremely few GAO employees “took a stand” against patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and/or age discrimination.  Instead, to keep their job and/or to get promotions, they helped GAO waste the careers of and get rid of its employees who were Republican, White, male, older, and/or non-veteran.

— Rauner Wants Permission To Fire Quinn I-DOT Patronage Workers  (DIERSEN: Do you OPPOSE patronage?  My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes PROMOTE patronage. GAO hired me in 1980 because it could not find a qualified Democrat who would take the job.  IRS hired me in 1971 because it could not find a qualified Democrat who would take the job.  The Post Office hired me in 1966 because it could not find a qualified Democrat who would take the job. Because I have always been a Republican, were it not for federal civil service protections, a) the Post Office would NOT have hired me in 1966 or let me work there for almost 3 years, b) IRS would NOT have hired me in 1971 or let me work there for almost 9 years, c) IRS would NOT have promoted me in 1972, 1973, or 1974, d) GAO would NOT have hired me in 1980 or let me work there for almost 18 years, and e) GAO would NOT have promoted me in 1986.)
