A new analysis by the Empire Center for Public Policy finds that New York City firefighters who retired last year after full careers were entitled to an average annual pension of $171,336. Nearly 95% of new retirees were eligible for six-figure pensions, and a quarter qualified for annuities of more than $200,000. Mr. Cuomo recently claimed his Democratic opponent in the mayoral race, Zohran Mamdani, was “very rich” because he and his wife likely made more than $200,000 combined.
