— Rep. Bobby Rush endorses Kamala Harris for president as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime leader’ Rush will serve as Harris’ Illinois campaign co-chair and calls her the ‘only candidate prepared to fight for all Americans.’ – AP (DIERSEN: GAO works for Congress. I would not be surprised at all to learn that Bobby Rush directed my GAO superiors a) to force me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, b) to give my job and my preferred corner office to one of my subordinates who was one of his constituents, c) to give me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, d) to always rank me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, e) to not assign me to audits of IRS, and f) to not promote me beyond GS-13.)

NORTH JERSEY
— Ex-Bergen County exec’s settlement is ‘wake-up call’ to trolls of public figures, lawyers say – Terrence T. McDonald (DIERSEN: According to my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, they are free to defame, slander, and libel me because I am a public figure. Should I write a book about them? Should I sue them?)
https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/bergen/2019/07/01/dennis-mcnerney-settlement-wake-up-call-online-trolls-lawyers-say/1582294001/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Sunday’s public apology by ex-Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney, who admitted using dozens of pseudonyms to write false comments online about a political rival, is a warning to anyone who thinks the anonymity of the internet gives them a license to lie about public figures, legal experts say. McNerney, a Democrat, agreed to apologize to GOP consultant Alan Marcus to settle a five-year defamation case Marcus waged over online comments McNerney posted under fake names in 2014. The comments alleged that Marcus committed fraud, blackmail and corruption and was about to be indicted. Marcus’ attorney has deemed the settlement agreement, which includes an undisclosed financial sum and McNerney’s public apology, the result of “landmark” litigation. Legal experts won’t go as far as to call the settlement a landmark, but the resolution of the case does contain a lesson for trolls who think online anonymity is an impenetrable shield, according to lawyers who talked to NorthJersey.com and the USA TODAY NETWORK New Jersey.)
