Of course, I will draw attention big time to those who lead that effort as well as to their operatives and dupes.)
https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/05/01/homer-township-republican-committeeperson-race-to-be-decided-by-lot-following-judges-order/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A Will County judge ruled in favor of Homer Township Supervisor Steve Balich’s request to get a ballot for his opponent tossed out, which results in a tie for the position of Republican precinct committeeperson that will be decided by lot. Judge John Anderson wrote in his opinion that one ballot cast for Homer Glen resident Tami O’Brien was not initialed by an election judge and could not be counted. A handful of ballots that were initialed in the wrong spot were not considered in this case and were counted. O’Brien was declared the winner of the March 19 race for Precinct 6 committeeperson in Homer Township by one vote, but Balich, who is also the Will County Board Republican Leader, filed for a recount. Anderson wrote he was sympathetic to O’Brien’s position that not counting the ballot would disenfranchise the voter who cast it. “Rather than this case being called a recount, the process may as well be called a discount because it entails efforts to make a vote not count — even when the vote was otherwise properly cast by a voter who most assuredly had no idea their voice would be ignored,” Anderson wrote. But the judge wrote the law is clear that all ballots need to be endorsed or initialed by an election judge and that the Illinois Supreme Court has considered this a requirement for 125 years. “No matter how sympathetic the Court may be to Ms. O’Brien’s position, it is not for a trial court judge to ignore plain statutory language nor directives from the Illinois Supreme Court,” Anderson wrote. O’Brien beat Balich in the March 19 election by 115 votes to 114. With the one vote tossed out, the result ends in a tie and a winner will be determined at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the clerk’s office. The clerk’s office has determined that numbered balls representing the candidates will be drawn from a container to break the tie.)

— SURPRISE MOVE: Illinois House Democrats introduced and passed legislation Wednesday that would put three non-binding questions on the November ballot and make a tweak existing election law. Sly move: The ballot questions are on subject that could generate interest to get Democrats to the polls, focusing on in-vitro fertilization, protecting election workers and targeting high-end homeowners with a property tax. The wide-ranging measure also calls for preventing political party committees from appointing challengers to fill out legislative ballots if the party doesn’t field a candidate in the primary. The bill drew outrage from House Republicans, who walked out of the chamber to complain about the Democrats’ quick move. House Minority Leader Tony McCombie criticized the bill for not allowing Republican input. Video of her comments here ( https://twitter.com/BlueRoomStream/status/1785778003009470802 ) Heading to the Senate: Senate Republican Leader John Curran says changing the rules in the middle of an election cycle is unfair to potential candidates who are operating under existing rules. Suggested ballot questions for the November 5, 2024 election:
Should government:
— Promote personal responsibility, that is, oppose the promotion of dependency on government and charity,
— Promote traditional marriage and family, that is, oppose the promotion of LGBTQ,
— Promote right to life, that is, oppose the promotion of abortion,
— Enforce E-Verify and immigration laws, that is, oppose the promotion of illegal immigration,
— Protect Second Amendment rights, that is, oppose diminishment of those rights,
— Discourage vices, that is, to oppose the promotion of booze, gambling, pot, and other vices,

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
Who will represent the Republicans in the 3rd Congressional District on the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee? In my opinion, the next IRP platform should promote the following:
— Personal responsibility, that is, oppose the promotion of dependency on government and charity,
— Traditional marriage and family, that is, oppose the promotion of LGBTQ,
— Right to life, that is, oppose the promotion of abortion,
— E-Verify and enforcement of immigration laws, that is, oppose the promotion of illegal immigration,
— Second Amendment rights, that is, oppose diminishment of those rights,
— Discouragement of vices, that is, to oppose the promotion of booze, gambling, pot, and other vices,
— Equal opportunity, that is, oppose race and gender based preference giving, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination, and
— Direct election of IRP State Central Committee members. – Dave Diersen

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
I served on the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee in 2008. But this year, powerful high-profile Republican public figures have falsely charged me with making a false statement in one of my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters, specifically, the following: “Because of what happened at the 2016 IRP State Convention, I am very concerned that efforts are underway under the table to water down if not officially strike the planks in the IRP platform that promote personal responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration law enforcement, Second Amendment rights, discouragement of vices, and/or equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving).” They have demanded that I remove my statement from www.gopillinois.com . They have hinted/implied that I made the statement with “actual malice” against them. First, I stand by my statement. Second, my statement is an expression of opinion and not a statement of fact. Third, because I have been a professional journalist since 2000, that charge against me is especially serious. They used that charge as pretext to remove me from this year’s IRP State Platform and Resolutions Committee. Short of suing them for defamation, what should I do, for example, should I send them a cease and desist letter? GOPUSA ILLINOIS
Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative. Candidates who run as Republicans should be required to affirm that if elected, they can and they will defend and advance the Republican Party platform including its personal responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks. – Dave Diersen
