The Democrats who ran the Post Office when I was 16 in 1966, IRS when I was 22, and GAO when I was 31 hired me despite my bad demographics, but if I was 18, 22, or 31 today, they would not hire me today. The Democrats who ran IRS in 1972, 1973, and 1974 promoted me when I was 23, 24, and 25 despite my bad demographics, but if I was 23, 24, or 25 today, they would not promote me today. The Democrats who ran GAO in 1986 promoted me when I was 38 despite my bad demographics, but if I was 38 today, they would not promote me today.)
