(FROM THE ARTICLE: Now that we have that out of the way, we can go right back to Paul Mangelsdorf’s brand-new non-muscle-car Dodge Charger Daytona R/T. Paul mostly uses the Auto driving mode. He has three more available: Eco, Sport, and Wet/Snow. There are also three regenerative braking levels. Right now, Paul uses the second of the three. He finds the third too aggressive, and the first one not quite enough. The R/T starts at $61,590. Paul’s car is painted in a gorgeous After Dark paint, which is a $795 option. The car rides on the 20-inch Blacknoise aluminum wheels. Paul likes the steering wheel, the seating position, and the fact that he has everything at hand. It is, he says, a step up from the Challenger. In terms of engagement, though… “It’s not lifeless, it’s got some character and feel to it,” he says. He enjoys the way the suspension handles the road imperfections. It is stable at high speeds and handles corners with much agility while remaining composed. Paul will, however, change the stock tires for grippier ones to get some extra traction. His car is equipped with the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which he finds to be a lot of fun around the city, but he prefers to turn it off on the highway because he doesn’t need the drama and the heads turning. The fake V8 sound mimics the growls and roars of a real engine, but it can’t fool a petrolhead. Dodge confirmed that the R/T and the Scat Pack have the same motors and battery but are tuned differently. So, the output gap between them might only be software-based. Now, Paul is considering tuning up the power in his R/T if that’s possible.)
