— DIERSEN HEADLINE: Hate-filled Trump-hating Trump-haters promote Kinzinger. 2,446,891 in Illinois voted for Trump. 193,611 in DuPage County voted for Trump. 20,080 in Milton Township voted for Trump. 157 in my precinct voted for Trump.

(FROM THE ARTICLE: It’s moderate Republicans like Kinzinger, willing to make a quick and clean break with Trump, who are the future of the state Republican Party. Trump’s loss — finally — is good news for the Illinois GOP. Although he won six of the state’s 18 congressional districts (by between 1.7 and 45.7 percentage points), he lost the other 12 by anywhere from 2.5 to 74 percentage points. Overall, he lost the state by a stunning 17 percentage points, twice. Trump will no longer be a handicap to Republicans in the Chicago suburbs and in places like Champaign County, where he could manage no more than 37 percent of the vote and where the once-dominant GOP lost six countywide offices since Trump became president. Democrats also have gained a pair of seats in both the Illinois House and Senate since 2016. Trump’s loss, combined with the demise of Michael J. Madigan, the longtime Speaker of the House who has bedeviled Republicans in the Legislature for 50 years, makes January 2021 one of the best months for the Illinois GOP in years. The political pendulum may finally be moving in favor of Republicans in the Land of Lincoln.)

— Madigan could still wield power behind the scenes while no longer Illinois speaker – Jim Niedelman
(DIERSEN: I should write a book about those who wield power behind the scenes in the following: Milton Township Republican Organization, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, Illinois Republican Party, Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County, and Illinois. I would focus on those power wielders who reject the traditional marriage/family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and/or equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in the Republican Party platform. I would focus on those power wielders who promote dependency on government, dependency on charity, LGBTQ, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, abolition of the First and Second Amendments, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and/or age discrimination.)

https://www.nprillinois.org/post/after-capitol-riot-backlash-sen-josh-hawleys-book-will-hit-shelves-may#stream/0
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri has a new reason to raise a clenched fist in the air: After much controversy, his book The Tyranny of Big Tech will be published. Washington-based Regnery Publishing, which aims to spread the message of “prominent and lasting voices in American conservatism,” announced on Monday it will publish the title in May. “We’re proud to publish Mr. Hawley’s book, which his original publisher has made more important than ever,” Regnery President Thomas Spence, said in a column published in The Wall St. Journal. Spence said he expects the book “will get additional attention,” and added, “We have a long tradition of publishing authors some of the mainstream publishers prefer to ignore.” “We don’t have to agree with everything—or anything—Mr. Hawley does. We ask only if his book is well-crafted and has something true and worthwhile to say. The answer is yes.” The book itself, The Tyranny of Big Tech, makes the argument that mega-tech companies, including Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Apple, wield too much market power and political influence. As a result, he says, these companies are threatening America’s republican form of government by quashing competition while raking in massive profits.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: As for the Republican party going forward, even after losing the election, Donald Trump’s ability to rally his base remained a valuable asset to the GOP. Pickerill said the party is dealing turmoil between Trump backers and more traditional conservatives. “There are obviously more traditional Republicans who don’t like ‘Trumpism’ who would like to get back to a kind of more traditional conservatism and libertarianism, so I think there is going to be a battle,” Pickerill said.)
