— Post-pandemic, some millennials finally decide to start #adulting – JENNIFER ROSNER
(DIERSEN: What encouraged you to start adulting? Neither of my outstanding parents attended college. My father was the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma. My mother never attended high school. Because my father had brittle (hard to control) type 1 diabetes from age 14, everyone always thought that his days were numbered. He died suddenly of heart failure in 1969 when he was 47 and I was 21. He worked in the office of a nasty chemical plant on the far east side of Chicago Heights 1941-1969. He almost always worked second jobs to pay the family’s bills. He did not buy a new car until he was 45 and it was a bottom of the line 2-door Chevy. His career advancement was limited not only because he had brittle type 1 diabetes, but because he did not have a college degree. Doctors advised him and advised his parents that the stress of getting a college degree would harm his health. The aforesaid encouraged me to take college preparatory courses in high school, get a score of 24 on the ACT, and graduate in the upper 20% of my class. The aforesaid encouraged me to earn money a) to buy a new car to commute to classes at UIC from my parents’ home in Crete, b) to pay for my college expenses, and c) to become a home owner. I did yard work and delivered newspapers 1962-1964; washed dishes 1964-1966; cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966; delivered mail 1966-1969; worked on an automobile assembly line and as a security guard in 1970; sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971; pumped gasoline 1971-1972; and collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980. I bought a new Pontiac Tempest Sprint (a poor man’s GTO) in 1966, new 1968 Oldsmobile 442 in 1967, new 1969 Dodge Charger SE in 1968, and a new 1972 Corvette in 1971. I bought a new town home in University Park in 1972, a studio condo in downtown Chicago in 1974, and a one bedroom condo in the same building in 1976. I graduated debt-free from NIU in 1970, earned an MBA from Loyola in 1976, and earned a master’s degree in an accounting from DePaul in 1980. I passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979 and I passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981.)

SPRINGFIELD STATE JOURNAL REGISTER
— Hire based on qualifications, not race – Imee Miedema
(DIERSEN: GAO hired me in 1980 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job. IRS hired me in 1971 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. The Post Office hired me in 1966 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. In 1971, when I was 22 years old, Oldsmobile withdrew a job offer that I had accepted saying that Oldsmobile had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. That directly resulted in my accepting a job offer from IRS. What if that had not happened?)

ILLINOIZE
— Kinzinger “Willing to Put My Career” on the Line Over Direction of GOP – Patrick Pfingsten
(DIERSEN: What did you do that limited your career? I avoided the draft. I refused to become a Democrat. I opposed political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, and age discrimination while I worked for the Democrats who ran the Park Forest Post office 1966-1969, IRS 1971-1980, and GAO 1980-1997. In 1986, I because the only active member in GAO’s Chicago office in a GAO-wide class action lawsuit that charged GAO with reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation.)

AMERICAN THINKER
— The Diversity Industry Has Turned the Clock Back…to 1960 – John Green
(DIERSEN: Democrats and RINOs use Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion to get rid of Republicans.)
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/04/the_diversity_industry_has_turned_the_clock_backto_1960.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Whether intentional or not, diversity ideology has become another framework to keep us all separated. By valuing and encouraging our differences, we’re reinforcing (strengthening) the things that separate us. We’re raising, not lowering, the walls. After fifty-plus years of attempting to desegregate, now even the civil rights movement is telling us to segregate again. A number of colleges are even having separate graduation ceremonies for different minority groups — and it’s reported as though it were a good thing. What’s next — separate dining rooms? There’s a word for a system of separate treatment — apartheid. I thought that was supposed to be a bad thing. I guess it becomes good when the right people ask for it. So what have we achieved after generations of trying to rid our society of racism? Hyphenated citizenship: African-Americans Chinese-Americans Mexican-Americans Irish-Americans (otherwise known as white-privileged-Americans) Native-Americans (those would be the American-Americans) The very groups that demanded desegregation in the ’60s are now self-segregating. Does anybody think this is good? Before you answer, remember that we just suffered through a summer of watching our cities burn to the ground — and we’re bracing for an encore again this year. All because we no longer trust those outside our assigned group.)
