NATIONAL LAW REVIEW
— Who is a “similarly situated” employee? New answers from a federal appellate court shed some light (DIERSEN: The more of the following that federal employees are, the more that the federal government wastes their careers and gets rid of them: Republican, White, male, non-veteran, and those who did not make GS-13 (currently $98,198) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $116,040) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $136,495) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $165,500) by age 40.)

THE HILL
— Blue states angry over SALT cap should give fiscal sobriety a try – LIZ PEEK (DIERSEN: The SALT cap punishes many homeowners in Illinois, in DuPage County, in Milton Township, in Wheaton, and in my precinct, not just the Democrat homeowners. The SALT cap turns Democrat homeowners against Republican homeowners. Trump should increase the $10,000 SALT cap to $20,000 for married filing jointly.)

— How to Turn a Rejection Into an Advantage What if you had gotten that one job? You know the one. The job you were banking on, hoping it would be the next big step in your career. The job you were so close to getting but that seemed to slip through your fingers. – Tim Herrera (DIERSEN: What job rejection had the biggest impact on you? For me, it was Oldsmobile’s withdrawal of a job offer that I had accepted when I was 22 years old in 1971. Oldsmobile said it had to withdraw its offer because it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. That directly resulted in my accepting a job offer from IRS.)
