https://www.wsj.com/articles/even-a-booming-job-market-cant-fill-retirement-shortfall-for-older-workers-11545326195
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Even though the official unemployment rate is just 3% for older workers, the actual jobs environment is surprisingly bleak. Nearly eight million older Americans are out of work or stuck in low-quality jobs that offer little opportunity to prepare for retirement, a Wall Street Journal analysis of government data shows. At Risk Nearly eight million older Americans are out of work or stuck in low-quality jobs that offer little opportunity to prepare for retirement. The figures include the nearly 2.1 million Americans who are out of work, working part time because they can’t find a full-time job or have stopped looking because they don’t think anyone will hire them. Another 5.8 million Americans—or 23% of full-time, year-round workers ages 55 and older—are employed in what economists describe as “bad jobs” that offer no health benefits and typically pay poorly. A decade ago, about 20% held these jobs, according to census data compiled by the Minnesota Population Center.)

FCW
— Will Democrats revive the Office of Technology Assessment in 2019? – Chase Gunter (DIERSEN: In 1997, I was a “casualty of Republican cost-cutting.”)
https://fcw.com/articles/2018/12/07/2019outlook-ota-revival-gunter.aspx
(FROM THE ARTICLE: From 1972 to 1995, the Congressional office provided scientific and technological advice to lawmakers, penning more than 750 studies and, at its peak, supporting 140 staffers with a budget exceeding $30 million in today’s dollars. When Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House, the office became a casualty of Republican cost-cutting. . .One alternative emerging among conservatives is to increase resources to offices with technological focuses that already receive funding, like the Government Accountability Office’s IT oversight arm. “There is this sort of natural skepticism of expert bureaucracies and the optics of recreating a new federal agency,” said Graves, who has also worked at R Street and Cato Institutes. “Republicans are going to be much naturally more favorable to doing this in GAO rather than OTA.” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), who led this year’s Senate-side push to revive OTA, isn’t limiting the path for improving tech capacity in Congress just to OTA. Keith Chu, Wyden’s press spokesperson, said the senator will look at a range of options to bring tech expertise to Congress, “whether it’s through reviving the OTA, giving GAO additional resources, or encouraging programs like TechCongress fellowships.” But boosting funding for GAO without bringing back an agency with OTA’s mission comes with downsides, because the two have fundamentally distinct visions, said Schuman. “GAO is an agency that has a waste, fraud and abuse mission — that is the organizational culture approach, that is the way they think about things,” he said. “OTA is often about imagining what’s possible and not criticizing what currently exists.”)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— What do those who want Republicans to lose want Republican party leaders to do? – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com

(THE ARTICLE: What percent of those individuals, organizations, and companies that are leaving Illinois, leaving DuPage County, and leaving Milton Township are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, non-poor, gun owners, German American, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time – 98%, 99%, 100%?

Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend their platform. Those who want dependency on government, dependency on charity, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, abolition of the First and Second Amendments, booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation, and even worse things ALWAYS VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS.

QUESTION: What do Democrats and Democrat plants, Libertarians and Libertarian plants, Greens and Green plants, and RINOs in Illinois, in DuPage County, and in Milton Township want Republican party leaders to do?

ANSWER: They want the Illinois Republican Party (IRP), DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and the Milton Township Republican Central Committee to downplay, to ignore, if not to strike the traditional family, right to life, immigration, and Second Amendment planks in the IRP platform and the illegal drugs and equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in the Republican Party platform. They know that downplaying, ignoring, and striking the aforesaid planks will drive individuals, organizations, and companies out of Illinois that are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, non-poor, gun owners, German American, and those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.

Further, those who want Republicans to lose want Republican party leaders to promote dependency on government, dependency on charity, LGBTQ activity, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, abolition of the First and Second Amendments, booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, patronage, political affiliation discrimination, reverse discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation.

Further, those who want Republicans to lose want Republican party leaders to banish individuals, organizations, companies, and governments that are Trump supporters, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, non-poor, gun owners, German American, and those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.)
