— Who will Trump appoint to be the next U.S. Comptroller General, that is, who will Trump appoint to be the next head of GAO?  The Comptroller General’s term of office is statutorily set at 15 years and they are not eligible for reappointment. I worked for GAO for almost 18 years 1980-1997, the last 11 years of which at the GS-13 Step 1-10 Levels, currently $115,439-$150,075/year. Gerne Dodaro, GAO’s current head, was one of my superiors. — GAO Chief Gene Dodaro Testifies Before The House Oversight Committee (COMMENT: Who will Trump appoint to be the next U.S. Comptroller General, that is, who will Trump appoint to be the next head of GAO?  The U.S. Comptroller General’s term of office is statutorily set at 15 years and they are not eligible for reappointment. I worked for GAO for almost 18 years 1980-1997, the last 11 years of which at the GS-13 Step 1-10 Levels, currently $115,439-$150,075/year. Dodaro was one of my superiors. He had no use for me. He was not impressed by my a) master’s degrees in business (1976), accounting (1980), and finance (1997), b) my professional certifications in accounting (1979), internal auditing (1981), fraud examination (1990), government financial management (1994), financial services auditing (1996), and forensic accounting (1997), c) my CPA license (1981), d) my almost 18 years working for GAO, or e) my almost 9 years working for IRS. He could have saved my GAO career, he could have stopped me from being forced into early retirement, but he did not.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Dodge, perhaps alone among contemporary automakers, has seen immense success in translating the archaic 20th-century Muscle Car formula into the 21st. It has done this by stuffing increasingly outrageous iterations of its modern Hemi V8 into nearly every vehicle in its product line. Its fervent Hellcat-ing has been enough, surprisingly, to maintain steadily vigorous sales of its Challenger coupe and Charger sedan, 20-year-old cars aping 55-year-old designs and riding on platforms developed more than 30 years ago. But those vehicles are finally going away. They will be replaced by flexible-powertrain two- and four-door models, both called Charger, that will be motivated, at launch in early 2025, solely by a 100.5 kWh battery pack and a pair of electric motors. (And if you’re a Mopar nut but are committed to internal combustion, your muscle-car future means an inline-six engine, as if you were one of those guys whose entire wardrobe consists of ///M apparel. Can you imagine?) So how does Mopar’s methylized muscle-maker plan to convince potential consumers to buy into such a blasphemous switcheroo?

NEW YORK MAGAZINE
— Unemployed Should ‘Find Something New,’ Urge Heirs to Fred Trump’s Fortune (COMMENT: When I was 22 years old in 1971, I accepted a job offer from IRS because I was unemployed. My Firestone Store boss had rudely fired me because I had accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile. But Oldsmobile withdrew that job offer saying that it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. I needed a job because I was helping support my mother and brother because my father had recently suddenly died.)
