AMERICAN FREE PRESS
— The Pendulum Will Swing
https://americanfreepress.net/the-pendulum-will-swing/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Donald Trump has stumbled and fallen, and the establishment is not going to let slip this last opportunity to stomp him and his movement to death. A month ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued a startling ultimatum: Either Vice President Mike Pence and the Trump Cabinet invoke the 25th Amendment, declare the president “unfit” for office, and remove him within 24 hours, or House Democrats will vote to impeach him again. Such is the blind hatred of Pelosi’s House for Donald Trump. Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina suggested holding off sending a bill of impeachment to the Senate for 100 days to give Biden a chance to get his appointees confirmed, and then indict and convict Mr. Trump of sedition when he is a private citizen. What would be the purpose of impeaching a president who hasn’t been president for three months? Answer: A conviction would strip Republicans of the right to reelect the man who got the largest number of votes in their party’s history. House Democrats want veto power over whom Republicans can nominate. And this is the crowd that does not cease to bray about its devotion to “democracy.”)

https://thehill.com/opinion/technology/537332-finally-a-republican-leader-declares-war-on-big-tech
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A Republican leader has decided to take on Big Tech. It’s high time. While other Republican legislators complain and pontificate about Twitter, Facebook and Google’s interference in our elections and censoring of conservative voices, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared war on the tech giants. DeSantis is proposing legislation that asks the Florida state legislature to impose stiff fines – up to $100,000 per day – on tech companies that “deplatform” political candidates running for office in his state. Candidates like, for instance, Donald Trump. Calling the tech giants “enforcers of preferred narratives” whose interests are “not in the public interest,” DeSantis, a Republican, wants to “ensure the protection of the people and their rights.” His proposed bill would allow individuals and the Florida attorney general to sue firms that violate newly established safeguards against privacy violations and censorship.)

https://www.wsj.com/articles/primary-challenges-proliferate-against-republicans-who-voted-to-impeach-11612521001
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Diante Johnson, an organizer with Black Voices for Trump last year and a field organizer with Trump’s 2016 campaign, has told associates he may launch a challenge to Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R., Ill.), depending on how the district looks after Democratic-led redistricting in the state this year. According to a person familiar with his thinking, Johnson is leaning toward launching a bid, motivated by Kinzinger’s vote to impeach Trump and his overall opposition to the former Republican president. Kinzinger has said he is at peace with the possibility that he could lose re-election over his Trump stance and launched a political-action committee to support fellow anti-Trump Republicans.)

— The Crisis of Unemployed College Graduates. Colleges must help prepare the class of 2021 to navigate the worst job market in decades. – Jeffrey Selingo and Matt Sigelman
(DIERSEN: What year did you graduate from college? I graduated in 1970 from NIU with a bachelor’s degree in management. What negatively impacted your job search? For me, it was my being draft bait. My father had died suddenly in October of 1969. Potential employers did not believe that my financial hardship draft deferment application to support my mother and brother in Crete would be approved. Further, potential employers were under tremendous pressure to hire minorities, females, and veterans. Consequently, I took the only job offer that got — retail sales manager for the Firestone Store in Chicago Heights. The job did not really require a college degree. Constructively, I was the store’s showroom salesman. Advancement opportunities were limited and slow. The store’s manager did not approve of my demographics (draft avoider, German-American, and Protestant). He never would have hired me, but Firestone Stores headquarters forced him to take me.)
