MEDILL REPORTS
— DOES DODD-FRANK SWAPS REGULATION REDUCE MARKET RISK? – Jiefei Liu  (DIERSEN: What do you know about swaps?  In 1997, I knew as much about swaps as anyone at GAO.  GAO audits federal financial industry regulators.  All during my last 8 years at GAO, I worked on audits that involved swaps.  In addition, I earned a master’s degree from IIT in financial markets and trading in 1997.  GAO wasted my knowledge of swaps when it forced me to retire in 1997.  GAO would not have done that if I had been a Democrat, a minority, a woman, younger, or a veteran.)
