— Republican candidates and elected officials who walked with the Milton Township Republican Organization (MTRO) entry in Wheaton’s Independence Day parade included Jeff Castle, Grant Eckhoff, Amy Grant, Richard Jorgensen, Seth Lewis, Amber Quirk, and Kenton Skarin. I walked with the MTRO entry, but according to one of the aforesaid, because I did not wear a MTRO shirt or a shirt with one of the candidates’ or elected officials’ names on it, I did not really walk with the MTRO entry. According to my critics/opponents, the more that I do to help elect a candidate, the more votes that candidate loses. I should write a book about Republican participation in Wheaton Independence Day parades since 1978. I started serving as the Republican fundraiser for the parades in 2005, but my anti-conservative, that is, anti-Republican critics/opponents ended that in 2021. In my book, I would focus on those who have worked the hardest to diminish/stop Republican participation in the parades. – Dave Diersen

— Yesterday, before the parade started, I had a conversation with one of the leaders of my critics/opponents in Wheaton. He justified the many big adverse actions that he and his followers have taken against me since the 1980s, including ending my service as the Republican fundraiser for Wheaton Independence Day parades and fireworks in 2021. According to him, I cause all my own problems. What did I do? During the 1980s, I successfully fought Wheaton’s efforts to install a traffic signal at Harrison and President and I sued Wheaton, its favorite developer, Milton Township, and DuPage County. More recently, I led successful efforts to stop video gambling and the sale of pot in Wheaton. But since 2015, their unmitigated hatred against Trump has ever-increasingly increased and I refuse to share their unmitigated hatred against Trump. – Dave Diersen
