— Former Munger Employees Fired From Comptroller’s Office – Mary Ann Ahern  (DIERSEN: If you promote patronage, one could say that you cannot complain about this.  All my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes promote patronage. Unlike the positions that these former Munger employees held, I never held a “policy level” position at GAO.  It may come out that Bobby Rush succeeded in getting my Democrat GAO superiors to force me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old so that my Black Democrat subordinate could have my job and have my preferred corner office.  Jim Thompson, Jim Edgar, and their supporters would have no problem with that because they all promote patronage.  SEE: http://www.nytimes.com/1996/03/13/us/seeking-return-to-ways-of-patronage-in-politics.html)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: In all, 13 former Munger employees have been fired by Mendoza in recent weeks. Their positions are described as jobs that are policy level, exempt ranks that are often at risk when there’s a change of administration. They are not union employees.)

GAO hired me in 1980 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job.  IRS hired me in 1971 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job.  The Post Office hired me in 1966 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job.)
