— DuPage County Republican Precinct Committeemen want to know which of their fellow committeemen they will be draw into the same new precinct with. I fully expect to again to be drawn into the same precinct with Jeanne Ives like I was in 2015. That year, I lost about 250 voters on the west side of the Prairie Path and I gained about 250 voters east of Warrenville Road in Ives’ old precinct. Yesterday, the DuPage County Finance Committee was scheduled to receive a “Draft DuPage County Precinct Map.” To meet the new 1,200 registered voters per precinct state requirement, many committeemen will have to be drawn into a new precinct with each other. Further, larger precincts necessarily mean that more precincts will contain more government districts. My current precinct outrageously includes voters in three (west, east, and south) of Wheaton’s four districts. I have asked the DuPage County Election Division to provide me with a detailed version of the Milton Township portion of the draft map. I have asked that it show where the Republican elected and appointed live-in-precinct (LIP) committeemen live. I have yet to be advised which District 4 County Board member has been selected to be the point of contact for the remapping process. I have yet to be advised who the attorney is who will verify that the maps comply with state law. A revised map is scheduled to be presented to the finance committee on April 11, 2023 with a public hearing. That revised map is to be posted on the County Board website for public review and comment. A new map is scheduled to be presented to the finance committee on May 9, 2023. That map is scheduled to be voted on by the County Board on June 13 or 27, 2023. Since at least 1999, my precinct lines had been unchanged and the precinct had about 500 registered voters. But in 2015, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes in the Milton Township Republican Organization and the DuPage County Republican Central Committee falsely told me that precinct border changes that year iwould only impact precincts that had more than 1,000 registered voters and that merely, those precincts would split. – Dave Diersen
