— Chicago voter turnout ‘shockingly low’ for March primary. – Lexi Sutter (COMMENT: What percent of the registered Republican voters in your precinct voted? 128 or 35% of the registered Republican voters in my DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 59 in Wheaton voted. What did your Republican Precinct Committeeman do to promote Republican turnout? I hand-carried a copy of the sample ballot and Annette Corrigan’s letter to each of the 224 homes and 4 apartments in my precinct that had at least 1 registered Republican voter.)

— How much pressure and from who is your Republican Precinct Committeeman under to dump the personal responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and/or equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks in the Republican Party platform? Since 1999, I have been under ever-increasingly more such pressure. I should write a book about that. I would stress that in my DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 59 in Wheaton, Trump got 86 votes while Haley got only 32.

— Day 4 of Chicago migrant evictions: Mayor Johnson urged to end them. The city began evicting migrants from its 23 shelters, affecting potentially 2,000 people by the end of April. Alderpersons are calling for a halt and greater transparency. – Michael Loria
— Didn’t vote on Tuesday? You weren’t alone. – Editorial (COMMENT: What percent of the registered Republican voters in your precinct voted? 128 or 35% of the registered Republican voters in my DuPage County Milton Township Precinct 59 in Wheaton voted. What did your Republican Precinct Committeeman do to promote Republican turnout? I hand-carried a copy of the sample ballot and Annette Corrigan’s letter to each of the 224 homes and 4 apartments in my precinct that had at least 1 registered Republican voter.)
— Is Chicago’s tepid turnout a ‘warning sign’ for President Joe Biden in November? Whether the city’s low voter turnout on Tuesday is a sign of apathy or dissatisfaction, Gov. J.B. Pritzker and key Democrats are downplaying the significance for President Joe Biden. But one leading pollster calls it a warning bell for other key Democratic cities: ‘These cities need to be engines of turnout.’ – Tina Sfondeles

— Few Americans Want to Work for Biden’s IRS (COMMENT: Potential IRS employees who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran should be advised that IRS will waste their career and get rid of them if they do not make GS-13 ($115,439) by age 25, GS-14 ($136,414) by age 30, GS-15 ($160,458) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service ($191,900) by age 40 and that extremely few IRS employees make the aforesaid promotion deadlines. IRS offered me a GS-7 (currently $54,728) job as a Revenue Officer in 1971 when I was 22 because IRS could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, and/or veteran who would take the job. I had had earned a bachelor’s degree in management and passed the Federal Service Entrance Examination in 1970. I accepted the offer because I was unemployed. My Firestone Store boss had rudely fired me because I had accepted a job offer from Oldsmobile. But Oldsmobile withdrew that offer saying that it had just agreed to stop hiring Whites to settle an EEOC complaint. IRS could not offer me a job as a Revenue Agent because I had not taken enough accounting courses.)
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The official IRS watchdog released a report last week noting the IRS is not attracting qualified applicants for its “revenue generating” positions. In a March 11, 2024 report the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration wrote: “Additionally, the external applications that have been received are far below the IRS targeted goal and there is an overall shortage of individuals with the desired background and experience, which has created further challenges in hiring.” And as noted by Government Executive magazine, referencing an Aug. 2023 TIGTA report: IRS had planned to bring on 3,833 revenue agents in fiscal 2023, but in the first six months officials had recruited just 34. Perhaps Americans are not attracted to employment with an agency that got caught illegally backdating penalty documents and signatures; an agency that got caught intentionally destroying 30 million tax forms submitted by taxpayers attempting to resolve their taxes; an agency unwilling or unable to protect sensitive personal information.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Global shipping executive Angela Chao had nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system when she drove a Tesla into a pond and drowned in Texas, according to a law-enforcement report released Wednesday that concluded her death was an “unfortunate accident.” The chief executive of Foremost Group died Feb. 11 after putting her car in reverse and driving into the pond on her Texas ranch in Johnson City, according to the report by the Blanco County Sheriff’s Office. A toxicology test on Chao showed a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.23, the report said. The legal limit is 0.08 in Texas. While Chao was over the Texas limit for driving on public roads, her alcohol level at the time of death isn’t considered against the law because she was driving on private property, said Chief Deputy Robert Woodring with the sheriff’s office.)
