— A judge issued a new order that has allowed four candidates in Catoosa County to re-qualify for the May 21 ballot through the election commission. This is in response to the Catoosa County GOP continuing to deny those candidates a spot on the republican primary ballot. “If you want people to continue believing in the ability of the Republican party, then you have to make sure that they are voting in a way that’s consistent with our platform,” said Georgia Republican Assembly President Nathaniel Darnell. (COMMENT: Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The Republican Party platform is conservative. The RNC and Republican state, county, township, and ward party organizations should stop candidates from running as Republicans if they reject planks in the Republican Party platform. Far too many candidates who have run as Republicans on ballots in my precinct reject far too many planks in the Republican Party platform. Most commonly, they reject the personal responsibility, traditional marriage and family, right to life, immigration, illegal drugs, Second Amendment, and/or equal opportunity (no race or gender based preference giving) planks.)
