— Crete marks Memorial Day with service, parade – Frank Vaisvilas (DIERSEN: What is your hometown? My hometown is Crete. I lived there 1948-1972. My brother continues to live there in a home that our grandfather, who fought the Germans in WWI, had built in 1926 on land that his grandfather bought in 1864 after he had homesteaded a farm in Crete in 1854. He had immigrated from what is now Germany in 1844 and worked in a brick factory in Chicago. I get defensive when my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes demonize, denigrate, and condemn Crete as always having been full of German-American Lutherans who are White supremacists, Nazis, KKK members, haters, racists, sexists, bigots, and even worse things.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Garcia was the keynote speaker at the Crete Memorial Day service at Crete Park, and was grand marshal in the parade, which was attended by several thousand people. . .The names of 36 fallen soldiers from Crete — who served in conflicts through the Vietnam War, including 15 from the Civil War — were read aloud during the ceremony. . .(ONE OF THOSE 36 WAS MY 1966 CRETE-MONEE HIGH SCHOOL CLASSMATE CHARLES GATTIS WHO DIED JULY 5, 1967 IN VIETNAM SEE: http://www.virtualwall.org/dg/GattisCM01a.htm). . .The parade along Main Street included about 50 entries, according to village administrator Mike Smith. Marching bands, politicians, classic car drivers, horseback riders and members of civic organizations all marched, waving to the crowd and tossing candy to children. “We just want to invite people to our vacation Bible school and also to respect and honor those who served,” said Stacey Phiefer of Village Church of Dyer, Ind. The church’s float featured a large wooden cross with an American flag draped across it. “Even though we empower girls and women, we’re pretty much here for everybody,” said Jen Familette, who marched with Girl Scouts Troop 65527. She added that her troop donates some of its funds raised by selling cookies to veterans. Representatives of Honor Flight Chicago also were on hand, offering free plane trips to war memorials in Washington D.C. to veterans of World War II and the Korean War.)

Of course, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes demonize, denigrate, and condemn my judgment, especially the thousands of decisions that I make 10+ hours each and every day a) to include or to not include links to articles in GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails, b) to comment on the articles that I include links to or not, and c) what those comments should be. Of course, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes hint/imply/argue/shout that if they, or if anyone that they manipulate/dominate, had been the GOPUSA Illinois Editor since 2000, Republicans would not have suffered any losses in Illinois since 2000.)

HOT AIR
— DIERSEN HEADLINE: Anti-Trumps shout at Dreamers, and at everyone else, that Republicans are White supremacists, Nazis, KKK members, haters, racists, sexists, bigots, and even worse things. Anti-Trumps use Dreamers to demonize, to denigrate, and to condemn Republicans as being White supremacists, Nazis, KKK members, haters, racists, sexists, bigots, and even worse things. Anti-Trumps glorify, praise, pander to, give money to, and otherwise promote Dreamers. Ever-increasingly, anti-Trumps make it clear that they want Dreamers to get preference over citizens of America. How soon, if not already, will employers crow that they have fired citizens of American and given their jobs to Dreamers? Anti-Trumps are counting on Dreamers to get rid of Republicans once and for all.)

HUFFINGTON POST
— Catholic Diocese Banned A Valedictorian’s Speech, So The Teen Found A Megaphone Kentucky’s Diocese of Covington said Christian Bales’ speech was too “political” for the high school’s graduation ceremony. – Carol Kuruvilla
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/catholic-diocese-banned-gay-valedictorians-speech-so-he-found-a-megaphone_us_5b0c19d3e4b0568a880d85ed
(FROM THE ARTICLE: a statement to The River City News, the Diocese of Covington said that it had the right to review and approve student speeches at graduation ceremonies. The diocese said that two speeches were not submitted for review before the deadline. In addition, the speeches were apparently too “political.” “When the proposed speeches were received, they were found to contain elements that were political and inconsistent with the teaching of the Catholic Church,” diocese spokesperson Tim Fitzgerald said. Holy Cross High School and the Diocese of Covington did not respond to HuffPost’s request for clarification about what parts of Bales’ speech were inconsistent with Catholic teaching. Bales’ mother, Gillian Marksberry, told WCPO that the school didn’t give her child a formal deadline to submit the graduation speech. In addition, she said school principal Mike Holtz had called her last week to remind her that diocesan officials would want Bales to dress in traditional men’s clothing and to refrain from wearing makeup or hairpins. “That was disturbing because in four years I had never received a phone call from the principal,” Marksberry told WKRC. “No one ever reached out to me to help learn about my child.” The teen pledged to continue speaking up about the issues that matter. “I think I’m going to keep fighting for what I believe in,” Bales told WKRC. “I’m going to keep using my megaphone and intensifying my voice.”)
