CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Fight over ward boundaries appears headed for costly referendum after Lightfoot fails to forge weekend compromise. After months on the sidelines, Mayor Lori Lightfoot jumped into the fray over the weekend, trying to bring the two the two sides closer together. — There was a time in history when Republican senators were willing to censure a colleague. It was 67 years ago this week when GOP senators censured Sen. Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin. Under the very best of circumstances, the past enables us to bring some light, however dim, on present events. – Michael H. Ebner
(COMMENT: I should write a book about my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes who tried but failed to get the Illinois Center Right Coalition to censure me at its 2006 Annual Convention in the Wheaton Bowl for my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters. I would focus on those who blamed me and blamed my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters for Bill Brady losing to Jim Oberweis and to Judy Baar Topinka in the 2006 Illinois Republican Party primary. Since 2000, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have blamed me and blamed my GOPUSA ILLINOIS newsletters for all the losses that Republican candidates on ballots in my precinct have suffered.)
