I earned a) a job-related bachelor’s degree when I was 21 in 1970 and job-related master’s degrees when I was 27, 31, and 48, b) job-related professional certifications when I was 30, 32, 41, 45, 47, and 48, and c) a job-related professional license when I was 32. Anyone should be able to do what I did because according to my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes, I am extremely stupid. But out of the other side of their crooked mouths they shout that I had tremendous unfair advantages in life including that I was born a White male, that my ancestors have been in America since 1844, that I avoided the draft, that I worked for the federal government, that I got married, that my wife has always had income, that we gave up trying to have children, that we did not adopt, and that we did not become foster parents, etc.)

— College students need more loan watchdogs, not fewer – Editorial (DIERSEN: When you were in high school, would you have been able to get a student loan? Because I would not have been able to get a student loan, I did not even try. When was in high school, I was not viewed as being “college material.” Neither of my parents had attended college. My father was the first of his ancestors to earn a high school diploma. My mother never attended high school. I spent my junior and senior years and the summer in between washing dishes for the minimum wage in the basement of the S.S. Kresges in Chicago Heights. I just barely made into the upper 20% of my class. My ACT score was only 24. I was 1-A for draft notwithstanding the fact that my eyesight could not be corrected to 20/20, I had partial red/green color blindness, and I had Osgood-Schlatter disease (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osgood%E2%80%93Schlatter_disease).)
