— Infighting at TPUSA?
https://townhall.com/columnists/arthurschaper/2025/12/29/title-reflection-on-years-end-infighting-at-tpusa-n2668557
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The TPUSA audience and the general conservative movement are feeling Charlie Kirk’s passing more keenly, since the MAGA Coalition, which he helped forge and flourish, is beginning to fray. Divisions are the norm in politics, especially among party brass and grassroots activists. They all claim the right vision for their party’s standards, but rarely have the conflicts burst to the forefront as they did at TPUSA American First 2025.)

— Why Social Security’s COLA Formula Is Failing Baby Boomers in 2026. Over 50% of current Social Security recipients have cut living costs because prices rise faster than their benefits. Benefits have lost around 20% of buying power since 2010 due to the COLA formula underweighting healthcare and housing costs. The 2026 COLA is 2.8% but fails to match retiree inflation because it tracks urban wage earners instead of senior spending patterns.

I took job-related courses at UIC 1966-1968 and in 1971, at NIU 1969-1970, at Loyola 1972-1976, at DePaul 1976-1980, at Becker CPA review 1978-1979, at Roosevelt 1980-1981, at the Institute of Internal Auditors in 1981, and at IIT 1992-1997.

GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE
— DD: Democrats run the federal government. For them, the federal government exists to hire, retain, and promote Democrats, and especially Democrats who are minority, female, younger, and/or veteran. If I had been a Democrat, the federal government would have promoted me into its Senior Executive Service long before I was 40 because I had a) earned master’s degrees in business and accounting, b) passed the CPA and Certified Internal Auditor examinations on my first attempt, and c) became a licensed CPA.

— 5 Ways AARP Is Fighting Age Discrimination. DD: According to my critics/opponents, age discrimination has never existed. They deny that my Democrat IRS superiors used up-or-out, that is, that they used age discrimination, to not promote me to GS-13. I ultimately did make GS-13 when I was 38 in 1986, but it was not until after I had a) earned an MBA in 1976, b) passed the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979, c) transferred to GAO in 1980, d) earned a master’s degree in accounting in 1980, e) passed the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt tin 1981, and f) became a licensed CPA in 1981. My Democrat IRS and GAO superiors promoted many of my Democrat coworkers to GS-13 ahead of me a) who had less work experience than I had, who had less education than I had, who had no professional certifications, and/or had no professional license and/or b) who were minority, female, younger, and/or veteran.
https://www.aarp.org/advocacy/fighting-against-age-discrimination/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: 1. Backing legislation that reinforces worker rights. On a national scale, AARP is backing bipartisan bills that support older workers. In May, AARP sent letters to the House and Senate endorsing the reintroduction of the Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act. This legislation would restore protections, which a 2009 U.S. Supreme Court decision stripped away, that required older workers to prove their age was the sole reason they experienced an adverse employment action. AARP also threw its support behind two more bipartisan bills in September. The Protecting Older Americans Act lets workers choose to pursue age discrimination claims in court rather than being forced into arbitration. The Protect Older Job Applicants Act would expand protections under federal law to include people who are applying for jobs, even before they have reached the hiring stage.)
AXIOS
— For the first time, there will be more workers in states with a minimum wage of $15 an hour or higher than those with the federal minimum of $7.25. More than a decade ago, labor advocates’ fight for a $15 an hour wage seemed radical — not so much anymore. DD: Back in the good old days, I worked for the minimum wage (about $13/hour in today’s dollars) part-time during my junior and senior years in high school and full-time the summer in between 1964-1966. With the money I earned, I bought a new 1966 Pontiac Tempest Sprint ( https://over-drive-magazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/1965-12-CD-1966-Pontiac-Tempest-Sprint-Test-1-4.pdf ) in May or 1966.
