There are a great many similarities between John Prendiville and John Suess, and neither candidate would be a bad choice for Wheaton voters.)

UHCL SIGNAL
— Labor laws fall short for college students – Shelby Schillings
https://uhclthesignal.com/wordpress/2019/02/25/labor-laws-fall-short-for-college-students/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: College students are overworked at part-time jobs. When asked about work complaints, students who were interviewed for this article mentioned their employers didn’t offer breaks, regularly shortened break time, disregarded previous schedule agreements and required them to work shifts less than 12 hours apart. How does this impact a student’s academic success and what can be done to help the current state of labor laws? These conditions may seem unfair or even illegal; however, these issues are completely acceptable under Texas law as Texas does not require that employers offer breaks, strictly stick to agreed work schedules or give workers fair time between shifts. To be clear, the law does require that employees be paid for short breaks throughout the day if the employer chooses to allow them, it does not require them to provide those breaks.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— If you ran for an office, would the Daily Herald endorse you? – Dave Diersen
http://www.gopillinois.com

(THE ARTICLE: From what I see, if I ran for an office, the Daily Herald would not endorse me for the following reasons: I am a Trump supporter, Protestant (baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran), conservative, patriotic, Republican, White, male, old (born in 1948), non-poor, gun owner, 100% German American, draft avoider, federal employee for almost 30 years, federal retiree for more than 21 years, childless, pet-less, American-nameplate car owner, and my ancestors have been in America since 1844. The Daily herald would stress that I am no longer a TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois chairman, Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member, Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) webmaster, Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) Steering Committee member, or American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member. The Daily Herald would stress that ICRC almost censured me in 2006 for my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails and that I lost 69 to 13 when I ran for MTRCC Treasurer in 2004. The Daily Herald would stress a) that GAO hired me in 1980 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, younger person, or veteran who would take the job; b) that IRS hired me in 1971 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job; and c) that the Post Office hired me in 1966 because it could not find a qualified Democrat, minority, female, or veteran who would take the job. The Daily Herald would stress a) that my Democrat GAO superiors forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take a $19,203 (26%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980; b) that my Democrat IRS superiors did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974; and c) that my Democrat Post Office superiors forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968. The Daily Herald would stress that religious, conservative, and Republican activists, candidates, elected officials, party leaders, major donors, political consultants, etc. in Wheaton, in Glen Ellyn, in Milton Township, in DuPage County, and in Illinois have virtually never come to my defense. The Daily Herald would stress that my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes blame me and my GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails for their problems, for your problems, for my problems, and for everyone’s problems. The Daily Herald would stress the very few times that my rude, condescending, bombastic, nasty, vicious, and threatening critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have succeeded in getting me to raise my voice. The Daily Herald would stress the lawsuits that I have filed. The Daily Herald would hint/imply/argue/shout that because of the aforesaid, my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes hint/imply/argue/shout that I am a White supremacist, Nazi, KKK member, hater, racist, sexist, bigot, and even worse things who should be gotten rid of once and for all.)

Author: David Diersen

The opinions that I express in GOPUSA ILLINOIS emails are based on experience that I have gained doing many things since 1948. I base my opinions on what I learned a) working for the federal government for almost 30 years -- Post Office 1966-1969, IRS 1971-1980, and GAO 1980-1997, serving on the Executive Committee of the Association of Government Accountants Chicago Chapter 1983-1996, and being a union member while I worked for the Post Office and IRS; b) earning an MBA from Loyola in 1976, a masters degree in accounting from DePaul in 1980, and a masters degree in financial markets and trading from IIT in 1997; c) passing the CPA examination on my first attempt in 1979 and passing the Certified Internal Auditor examination on my first attempt in 1981; c) serving as a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 1999, the GOPUSA Illinois Editor since 2000, the TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois Chairman 2005-2012, a member of the 2008 Illinois Republican Party (IRP) Platform and Resolutions Committee, a Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee member 2003-2011, the Milton Township Republican Central Committee webmaster 2008-2010 and 2000-2004, an Illinois Center Right Coalition Steering Committee member 2003-2007, and an American Association of Political Consultants Midwest Chapter board member 2001-2004; d) attending the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 IRP State Conventions as a delegate; e) being the subject of a nasty 4-page article in the February 1978 issue of Money Magazine; f) pursing litigation including Diersen v. GAO and Diersen v. Chicago Car Exchange; g) being married since 1978; h) living in Crete 1948-1972, in University Park 1972-1976, in Chicago 1976-1978, and in DuPage County, Milton Township, and Wheaton since 1978; and i) being baptized, raised, and confirmed as a Missouri Synod Lutheran.
