CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— Obama saw low-wage workers as struggling moms. Trump may see them as suburban teens – Jim Puzzanghera  (DERSEN: Are/were you a low-wage suburban teen?  I was.  I did yard work, delivered newspapers, washed dishes, cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, pumped gasoline, and delivered mail while my outstanding parents provided me with room and board.  With the money that I earned/saved, I bought a 1958 Chevy BelAir in 1964, a new 1966 Pontiac Tempest Sprint in 1966, a new 1968 Oldsmobile 442 in 1967, and a new 1969 Dodge Charger SE in 1968.  In addition, I paid for all my college expenses at UIC 1966-1968 and at NIU 1969-1970.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Already, DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin has sent a letter to Caterpillar CEO James Umpleby touting his west suburban area and stressing a willingness to work with Cat’s relocation team. http://www.centralillinoisproud.com/news/trumps-labor-dept-pick-admits-to-employing-undocumented-worker/650571405
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Andrew Puzder, President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Labor Department, employed an undocumented immigrant for years, the business magnate said in a statement Monday. It’s an admission that in the past has sunk other Cabinet secretary nominees. Puzder’s nomination has been stalled in Congress after a series of delayed hearings from the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. Puzder, the head of the parent company that owns fast food companies Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr., said he and his wife have already paid back taxes on the employee. “My wife and I employed a housekeeper for a few years, during which I was unaware that she was not legally permitted to work in the US,” Puzder said in a statement. “When I learned of her status, we immediately ended her employment and offered her assistance in getting legal status.” He added: “We have fully paid back taxes to the IRS and the state of California and submitted all required paperwork.” The Huffington Post first reported the fact Puzder employed an undocumented worker.)

CHICAGO NOW
— The most famous federal appellate judge in the Country tells it like it is: Berkowitz w/Posner (DIERSEN: Have you ever argued a lawsuit before Judge Posner?  I did in 1996. SEE: David J. Diersen v. Chicago Car Exchange, Inc., 110 F.3d 481 (7th Cir. 1997), cert. denied, 118 S.Ct. 178 (1997) (
http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-7th-circuit/1385001.html) The lawsuit involved the Federal Odometer Act (FOA), the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) authority to grant exemptions from the FOA, and the sufficiency of material facts that would make a dealer suspicious of a car’s mileage. On September 16, 1996, I presented oral arguments to Chief Judge Posner and to Circuit Court Judges Coffey and Kanne.  On March 31, 1997, the Appellate Court agreed with me and ruled that DOT’s exemption for cars over 10 years old was invalid.)
