— I have always followed the rule of law. While I worked for the Democrats who ran IRS and GAO, Democrat Affirmative Action and DEI laws required me to give preference big time to my Democrat subordinates who were minority, female, younger than me, disabled, and/or veteran. Virtually all my subordinates were problematic one way or the other. But I nevertheless gave them big time preference. But that was not enough for my Democrat superiors. They wanted to get rid of me so that they could give my job to one of my subordinates. My Democrat GAO superiors succeeded in doing that when I was 49 years old in 1997. They succeeded in forcing me to retire. They gave my Democrat Black subordinate my job and my preferred corner office. He had less work experience than I had. He had less education than I had. He had one professional certification while I had six. He had no professional license like the one I had. Previously, to get rid of me, they had always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, They had kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO. They had delayed my promotions and never promoted me beyond GS-13. They had forced me to take a $23,472/year (21%) pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO. They had ignored/dismissed/belittled a) my earning master’s degrees in business, accounting, and finance, b) my earning professional certifications in accounting, internal auditing, fraud examination, government financial management, financial services auditing, and forensic accounting, and c) my becoming a licensed CPA.
