— If you are the following, Democrats ever-increasingly foist the sins of your forefathers on you. If you are the following, and your ancestors have been in America for a long time, Democrats ever-increasingly stress how long your ancestors have been in America: heterosexual, conservative, Republican, American, White, male, older, non-poor, married, gun owner, Protestant, and/or German American. My ancestors have been in America since 1844. In my defense, I stress that they always lived in northeast Illinois, that they never were in a position to discriminate against anyone, and that they never did discriminate against anyone. In 1921, on my father’s side, they operated Crete’s only hardware store. On my mother’s side, they operated a farm in Grant Park along the Indiana border. In the Civil War, Democrats fought to preserve slavery, Republicans fought to end slavery. The more that Democrats promote Juneteenth, the more evidence that Democrats are succeeding in painting today’s Republicans as being yesterday’s Confederates.

https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/06/18/naperville-awake-illinois-southern-poverty-law-center-hate-map/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Naperville-based Awake Illinois was called out as one of 1,430 hate and anti-government extremist groups operating in the U.S. in 2023 by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Awake group, which espouses anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and advocates against sex education in schools, was flagged by the center in its Year in Hate & Extremism report. The annually published report, the center says, is a “comprehensive analysis of the groups and organizational infrastructure upholding white supremacy in the United States.” It includes a “hate map,” tracking groups that land on the center’s hate and extremism radar by state as well as several observed trends in recent hard-right activity. In its latest analysis, the center found that 39 different hate and anti-government extremist groups were active in Illinois last year. Those, according to the center, included Awake Illinois. Other Illinois groups cited by the center include Partners for Ethical Care, an anti-gender affirming group in Chicago, and several local chapters of the conservative parental rights group Moms for Liberty. Asked for comment, Awake Illinois founder and President Shannon Adcock deferred to a video statement on the group’s X (formerly Twitter) account. “Awake Illinois is designated a ‘hate group’ by the totally not respected and fully absurd joke of an organization known as the Southern Poverty Law Center,” the group posted to X earlier this month. “Awake Illinois continues to be a thorn in the side of government bootlickers, child exploiters, anti-Americans, Marxists and people with no sense of humor whatsoever.” Awake’s statement goes on to thank the center “for this amazing 3rd anniversary gift.” The group was founded in May 2021. The statement ends with “Can’t cancel us!”  From her own X account, Adcock wrote, “I’d like to thank the SPLC for this award,” followed by a laughing crying emoji, in a June 4 post. The Southern Poverty Law Center, based in Mongomery, Alabama, has been publishing an annual census of hate groups operating within the United States every year since 1990. The tally encompasses several different types of groups under the larger umbrella of hate and extremism. Ideologies the center’s hate map covers include anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ+, conspiracy propagandists, Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazi and racist skinhead, among others. Awake was deemed a “general anti-government” group, which, per the law center’s website, are groups that are “part of the anti-democratic hard-right movement.” The center dubbed more than 630 of the total 1,430 groups on its 2023 hate map as generally anti-governmental. To devise the annual analysis, the center says it reviews extremist group publications and materials as well as reports by the public, law enforcement, field sources and news media. The center identified 205 more hate and anti-government extremist groups last year than it did the year before. Between 2021 and 2023, the list has almost doubled in size. However, the number often fluctuates. In 2016, the center named 917 groups on its hate map. By 2018, that total was up to 1,020. The next year, it was down to 940. The same pattern is reflected in Illinois. In 2018, the center placed 31 Illinois groups on its hate map. Two years later, only 19 across the state were identified. Beyond monitoring hate and extremism, the center — founded in 1971 — files lawsuits over justice issues and offers educational programs to counter prejudice. It is frequently criticized by conservative groups as biased and has faced lawsuits of its own in the past over its designation of various organizations as hate groups. In 2019, for instance, the founder of the far-right Proud Boys extremist group sued the center for labeling the organization as a hate group. Awake Illinois describes its efforts as “waking up Illinoisans each day while empowering citizens to elevate their voices on topics of education, equality, legislation, civic involvement and social welfare causes.” The group often takes positions on pending legislation and encourages voters to lobby their legislators. It also runs a livestream series called “Protect the Kids.” According to Awake, the series “invites top national advocates and experts to discuss how they are empowering parents, policy makers and communities on the urgent need to protect children from the harms known as ‘gender affirmation,’ ‘gender ideology’ and transgender trends.” Most recently, Awake ran a campaign to drum up opposition to a “Drag Story Hour” hosted by the Skokie Public Library on June 8. On its website, the library publicized the event as Chicago drag queen Coco Sho-Nell leading a “festive and fabulous hour of stories and fun during Pride Month.” It was open to children ages 3 to 6, accompanied by an adult. The event went on without a hitch.)

To curry favor with Blacks, my Democrat and RINO critics/opponents have used AA and DEI to make me pay a tremendous amount of reparations. They have always strongly hinted/implied/argued/shouted that I took jobs that should have been given to Blacks. I did yard work 1962-1964, delivered newspapers 1962-1966, washed dishes 1964-1966, cleaned golf shoes, chipped slag, and pumped gasoline in 1966, delivered mail 1966-1969, worked on an automobile assembly line in 1970, sold tires, automotive services, and major appliances 1970-1971, pumped gasoline 1971-1972, collected delinquent taxes 1971-1980, and audited federal agencies 1980-1997. In 1997, they forced me to retire early and gave my job and my preferred corner office to my Black subordinate. ILLINOIS REVIEW
— Mark “Manifesto” Shaw Removed as IL GOP Vice Chair as Grassroots Dominate Local, State Party Politics
https://www.illinoisreview.com/illinoisreview/2024/06/mark-manifesto-shaw-removed-as-il-gop-vice-chair-as-grassroots-dominate-local-state-party-politics.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Late on Monday, the Illinois Republican Party State Central Committee – the governing board of the IL GOP, voted overwhelmingly to remove fellow SSC committeeman Mark Shaw as vice chair of the state party – in a stunning move – as the grassroots continue to show their dominance over statewide GOP politics. On Saturday, Shaw penned an angry, 10-page manifesto where he appeared unhinged as the IL GOP leader attempted to defend himself after it was revealed that he broke party rules and purposefully misrepresented himself as a delegate during the state convention last month, and then threatened to beat up a leader of the party. As it has been previously reported, Shaw made a fool of himself during the GOP State Convention in Collinsville when he refused to withdraw from his national committeeman race after losing in a series of votes – intent on not backing down despite an overwhelming majority of delegates rejecting his candidacy. And when Aaron Del Mar, a fellow SSC member suggested he withdraw from the race and back his opponent, Shaw threatened Del Mar – a former MMA fighter, and said that he was going to take him outside and beat him up. But that wasn’t all. Just shortly after the convention, it was discovered that Shaw purposefully misrepresented himself as a delegate to the convention as photos emerged of the IL GOP vice chairman wearing an official delegate badge when he was in fact, not a delegate – a direct violation of state party rules. Several county GOP leaders called for Shaw to resign or be removed from his leadership positions – and late on Monday – that’s exactly what happened during a Zoom meeting where the SSC met to discuss Shaw’s future within the party. Shaw remains a SSC member and a member of the IL GOP finance committee – but those positions are in jeopardy as well following Monday night’s vote. Over the last few months, the grassroots have dominated local and state party politics – and the influential voter base shows no signs of backing down – a point that threatens the party establishment.)

CHICAGO TRIBUNE

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The decision by top Illinois Republican officials to dethrone the party’s vice chair could portend even bigger changes for the moribund organization, including renewed efforts to replace its Illinois GOP Chairman Don Tracy. Mark Shaw, the former chairman of the GOP in Lake County, lost the title of state party vice chair and also was removed from the party’s fundraising committee during a special  meeting Monday of the Illinois Republican State Central Committee following controversies last month at the state GOP convention in Collinsville. State GOP sources familiar with the inner workings of the state party said the events leading up to Shaw’s sanctioning also underscored long-standing concerns about the leadership of Tracy, a Springfield attorney who has headed up the party since February 2021. Tracy took no public position on whether Shaw should continue as state GOP vice chair and said he was powerless to force him to step down — a stance critics cited as weak. They also noted Tracy questioned whether Shaw was being fairly treated. The party instability comes less than a month before the state’s 64-member delegation heads to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention’s nomination of former President Donald Trump. The entire delegation is pledged to Trump, including Shaw and Tracy. But conventions are typically designed to display party unity — an element lacking within the Illinois GOP leadership. “His days are numbered. It’s just a matter of how it happens,” one Republican familiar with the intraparty discussions said of Tracy. The source asked that their name not be used to avoid intensifying the feuding. Tracy was unavailable for comment, according to a party spokesman, who instead issued a statement confirming Shaw was no longer serving as state GOP vice chair. At the state GOP convention last month Shaw, of Lake Forest, unsuccessfully sought to be named a committeeman to the Republican National Committee. He overwhelmingly lost three floor votes among delegates after having been recommended each time by a convention committee. Shaw was then urged by another state central committeeman, Aaron Del Mar of Palatine, to withdraw and support the eventual winner, businessman Dean White of St. Charles. After that happened, Shaw, 63, has acknowledged he threatened to “kick his ass,” speaking about Del Mar, even though the 45-year-old has a previous history of being involved in mixed martial arts. Shaw also displayed a floor delegate badge at the convention, enabling him to vote for himself as national committeeman, even though he was not chosen by Lake County GOP Chairman Keith Brin to serve as a delegate. Brin successfully became county GOP chairman in July 2022 amid concerns over growing Democratic victories in Lake County and Shaw withdrawing his bid for another term. Shaw, who has been a paid adviser to Trump’s reelection campaign, also was criticized for distributing drink tickets promoting his national committeeman candidacy for a hospitality room that was paid for to promote Trump. In a post-convention 10-page manifesto of grievances, Shaw said he did nothing wrong. He labeled GOP critics seeking his ouster as party vice chairman as “keyboard warriors,” “political hacks” and “uninformed lemmings” and attacked the “sheer ignorance knowingly perpetrated by my political enemies.” On Monday, of the 14 members of the 17-member state central committee who met, 11 voted to take Shaw’s title away, though he remains a state central committeeman. Shaw did not appear, sending a lawyer in his place. Two others voted “present” and only one member voted to retain Shaw as vice chairman. Efforts to sanction Shaw also include his symbolic censuring by the Lake County GOP and a potential “no confidence” vote by Republican committeemen in the 10th Congressional District that he represents on the state central committee. Condemning Shaw has resulted in a unifying effect among often disparate Republican county chairs in the Chicago area. But it also has reopened the doors to a potential challenge of Tracy who survived a “no confidence” vote in May of last year. As was the case with Shaw, removing a state GOP officer requires a 60% majority of the weighted vote of ballots cast in the March Republican primary. “Don is incredibly weak right now, because he doesn’t have any support. Nobody is standing up and saying, ‘We really want Don.’ But that’s not happening,” said another source active in the inner workings of the party. The source said in the wake of the Shaw discipline, “I don’t think there’s an appetite right now. But I would say within a week or two there probably is.” But, the source said, there are questions of whether to mount a challenge to Tracy before next month’s GOP national convention or wait until August, when Republicans gather for their day at the Illinois State Fair. “There’s a lot of different opinions, but there’s no one standing up and saying that we need to keep this guy,” the source said. The first source said the party provides few resources to elect Republicans and instead money actually flows out to “consultants and staffers.” That source said the GOP needs a leader “who’s actually in it to build a party organization” and doesn’t use the position with a personal agenda of boosting themselves or their allies as has been the case with past state chairs. The source noted Illinois is an economically and geographically diverse state and the party needs to reflect that. “You need a leader who wants the state party to be successful above and beyond the success of any single individual,” the source said. Among names being mentioned by Republicans in a possible challenge to Tracy’s post are Del Mar, a former Cook County GOP chair, and Jason Plummer, a state senator from Edwardsville who also serves on the GOP state central committee.)

LAKE FOREST PATCH
— Illinois Republican Leaders Oust Vice Chair Mark Shaw Over ‘Trans Delegate’ Scandal. Party leaders removed the vice chair after he was accused of voting improperly and challenging a rival to a fight at its convention. – Jonah Meadows
https://patch.com/illinois/lakeforest/illinois-gop-leaders-oust-mark-shaw-over-trans-delegate-scandal
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Shaw, who is also the state central committeeman for the 10th Congressional District, had been facing calls for his ouster from several senior party leaders, including the man who succeeded him as chair of the Lake County Republican Party two years ago. Keith Brin said in a letter asking his fellow county chairs to demand Shaw’s resignation that Shaw claimed to believe he was a delegate at the state convention even though he had been explicitly told he was not. And, according to the Lake County chair, an eyewitness spotted Shaw asking for multiple delegate badges to give to others. “I guess I wasn’t aware there was a new category of identity in America. More specifically, in the Republican Party. We now we have people who ‘identify’ as delegates. It doesn’t matter that they weren’t actually delegates. But because they were above following the rules – the rules they most likely helped create – they were allowed to enter the convention as delegates. And we must forgive them their transgressions and ignore the rules because it’s all up to how they identify,” Brin said. “I should tell my Democratic Chair counterpart the Republican Party is now woke! We are election woke! All election identities are welcome and honored. I think we all should go to an electorally split county and claim that we identify as voters there and demand ballots. It works for Mark Shaw and the Republican Party, so why not,” the county chair said in his June 10 letter to county chairs. “This is all garbage. It’s hypocritical and embarrassing. How can we continue to spend resources on election integrity and allow this arrogance within the upper hierarchy of our Party? We are not talking about a first-term committeeman,” he added. “We are talking about the second in charge of the Illinois Republican Party. This was not a mistake; this was a calculated action.” Brin’s letter to county chairs came four days after state party chair Don Tracy told Shaw that he had “been directed to ask him to resign” in response to the desire of a “strong majority” of the state central committee to get rid of him. The delegate badge controversy was compounded by the allegation that Shaw challenged another committee member to a fight following his unsuccessful bid to become a committeeman for the Republican National Convention, or RNC. Shaw responded to demands for his ouster Saturday with a 10-page response containing his account of events, describing the allegations of voter fraud and incitement of violence as false. According to Shaw, 35 of Lake County’s 45 delegates did not even show up to the convention in Collinsville and no one had any problem with him voting along with the Lake County delegation. And he denied giving away delegate badges to anyone else. Shaw also denied the accusation that he threatened to beat up Palatine Township Committeeman Aaron Del Mar, who he said had spent the weekend intimidating other delegates to defeat him. “More ominously, Aaron reportedly incited attendees to ‘charge the stage’ at the [Illinois Republican Party] State Convention if his candidate, Dean White, was not declared RNC Committeeman,” Shaw said. “Aaron’s divisive, threatening and intimidating conduct resulted in an exchange of very charged words between us as he attempted to bully his way into a private meeting between White, [Chairman] Don Tracy, [General Counsel] John Fogarty and me,” Shaw continued. “He menacingly invited me to fight him when I told him he was not invited to attend the meeting, and I was going to prevent him from doing so. Reflexively, I responded to his invitation by telling him that I would kick his ass. Obviously, a poor choice of words on my part, given Del Mar’s much younger age, better physical condition, and status as a former mixed-martial-arts athlete.” In addition to his claims regarding Del Mar, Shaw’s response contained a series of criticisms of Brin, Cook County GOP Chairman Sean Morrison and the party’s former attorney general nominee, Tom Devore — who accused Shaw of being a “trans delegate” in a social media post. State Sen. Jason Plummer, of Edwardsville, said the state central committee would be able to take action regarding the allegations of misconduct against Shaw at Monday’s meeting. Plummer, the GOP state committeeperson for the 15th Congressional District, said he had heard some good feedback about the state convention. “At the same time, I am very disappointed about the various troubling things that have been relayed to me,” Plummer said, “and the party must take appropriate steps to definitively address any wrongdoing.” GOP state central committee members voted “overwhelmingly” to remove Shaw as vice chair Monday evening, the Illinois Review reported, though he remains, as of Tuesday, a member of the central committee and finance committee.)
