CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Campaign 2022 kicks off with ‘camaraderie,’ coffee and catcalls — as candidates line up to get on the ballot. It was the first day of the weeklong period for candidates to file their nominating petitions for federal, state and local offices on the June primary ballot. The office didn’t open until 8 a.m. But that didn’t stop a line of more than hundred candidates and staffers from gathering hours earlier despite snow and near freezing temperatures. – Taylor Avery

— Rudeness now seems to be the norm among elected leaders. The boorish behavior Americans saw last week exemplified how much blatant incivility has been normalized by some of those who hold public office. – Editorial
(COMMENT: I should write a book about the rudest people in government and/or politics that I have had to deal with since 2000.)

— COMMENT: Ever-increasingly, Democrats do everything that they can to blame Republicans for all the problems that Blacks have had, are having, and will have, and especially Republicans who are law enforcement officers, Trump supporters, conservative, patriotic, White, male, older, heterosexual, married, non-poor, gun owners, Christian, Protestant, Italian American, German American, and/or those whose ancestors have been in America for a long time.

— Candidates file for Kane County Board and countywide offices –
https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20220307/candidates-file-for-kane-county-board-and-countywide-offices
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Former Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen was among the first to file at the county clerk’s office Monday as he turned in paperwork to run for county treasurer. Democrat Jeffrey Pripusich also filed for treasurer. Lauzen, who served as county board chairman for eight years, said he wanted to be a “spending watchdog” for the county’s money. He pointed to several county expenditures he considered wasteful, including employing a lobbyist and the recent hiring of a public information officer. “If somebody is not satisfied with what’s going on in any level of government, rather than complain about it, do something about it,” said Lauzen, an accountant who also served in the Illinois Senate for 20 years.)
