Political parties exist to help elect candidates who can and will defend and advance their platform. The IRP platform in conservative. I am one of the extremely few Republican political consultants in Illinois. I have been a member of the American Association of Political Consultants since 2001. I served on the board of directors of its Midwest Chapter 2001-2004. I want Republican candidates to win. Political consultants in Illinois who want Republican candidates to lose do not advise the IRP leaders or their candidates to defend and advance the IRP platform. Instead, they advise the IRP leaders and their candidates to ignore the platform, to paint themselves as being Democrat Lite if not anti-conservative, and to give the voters what they want. According to them, Illinois voters want dependency on government and charity, LGBTQ, abortion, mass/illegal immigration, booze, gambling, pot, and other vices, diminishment of Second Amendment rights, and race and gender based preference giving. Far too many IRP leaders and far too many of their candidates have taken that advice and are taking that advice. That is why Republican candidates are losing elections. That is why I am extremely concerned that efforts are under way under the table to move the new IRP platform to the left.
