CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
— Remap moves ahead: Democrats send new legislative maps to Pritzker’s desk — over GOP objections. The House passed the maps shortly before 10 p.m. on a straight, partisan 71 to 45 vote. They passed the state Senate in the same fashion earlier in the day. “We are not going to let Republicans gridlock the process, solely for political gains,” state House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch said minutes before the vote. “It’s not going to happen. Not here. Period.” – Rachel Hinton and Andrew Sullender

(FROM THE ARTICLE: “Slavery was part of the daily culture of the tribal nations,” said Moore’s statement, “with the (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Creek, Choctaw and Seminole tribes) entering into treaties with the Confederate States of America to ensure slavery continued.” Paul Chaat Smith, a Comanche and the associate curator of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, said in a 2018 speech that these five tribes “were deeply committed to slavery, established their own racialized Black codes, immediately reestablished slavery when they arrived in Indian territory, rebuilt their nations with slave labor, crushed slave rebellions and enthusiastically sided with the Confederacy in the Civil War.” Smith referred to this truth as the “mangy, snarling dog standing between you and a crowd-pleasing narrative,” according to coverage of his speech in Smithsonian magazine. “Indians bought, sold, owned and exploited black people’s labor and reproduction for economic and social gain,” wrote University of Massachusetts at Amherst historian Barbara Krauthamer in her book “Black Slaves, Indian Masters.” “Because the Indian nations existed as autonomous political entities, Union victory did not automatically liberate black people from bondage,” Krauthamer wrote. “Only in the course of negotiating a new treaty with the United States during the spring of 1866 did Choctaw and Chickasaw leaders grudgingly consent to acknowledge slavery’s demise.”)

FOX NEWS
— Growing number see Biden as too liberal – Dana Blanton
(DIERSEN: I should write a book about my critics/opponents who have demonized me, denigrated me, and condemned me the most as being “too conservative.” I would focus on those who paint themselves as being religious, conservative, and/or Republican. I would focus on those who have/had lots of religious, government, political, and/or financial clout in Wheaton’s West District, Wheaton, Milton Township, DuPage County’s 4th District, DuPage County, and Illinois. I would focus on those who are/were leaders of the Milton Township Republican Organization, DuPage County Republican Central Committee, and Illinois Republican Party. I would focus on those who have been candidates on Republican ballots in my precinct, their major donors, their political consultants, their fundraisers, their campaign managers, and their campaign volunteers.)
